Harvest Moon Full Walkthrough-
 Pretty much all the information needed for going through the game.

The Beginning

You will start out by entering your name, birthday, then your ranch's name, and your dogs name.
You will start out in your house. When you leave your house you will meet the mayor of the Flower Bud Village and he will give you a tour of the village. After the tour of the village you can go talk with the people inside the village and outside of it. After you are done talking with the people go to Green Ranch for a pony which they will give you. You can spend the rest of day getting to know all the places in the game.

Your house

Everyday you should watch the television programs on the TV in your house. On channel 1 is the weather program, which will tell you the weather for the next day. On channel 2 is a program, which will tell you the monthly events that are to happen that month. On the days before a festival and the day of the festival this channel will warn you about that upcoming festival. On channel 3 is the educational program, which will give you helpful hints on how to make more money, how to become prosperous, how to care for animals and crops, and more. Channel 4 is supposed to be the entertainment program but nothing ever seems to be on. You will have a toolbox in your house, which you can use for holding extra tools and items. You can sleep by clicking on the drawer next to the bed and then by clicking on "A Dairy". To save press "Write in Dairy", to do not save click on "Don't Write", and click "Don't Sleep" not to go to sleep. On festival days when it says this has been a good day (or something like that) and you go to sleep the game will not save. You can also click on "A Tool Note" for information about tools "An Estimate" for information about your farm like the amount of wood material you have. Finally an album will show pictures of important accomplishments in your life.

Your Farm

To find a treasure map look in the tree near chicken stalls. Put your crops in the bins to get money when the man who sells and buys the crops and other things comes by. It does not matter what shipping crate you put everything in. You will still get your money. For example you can put eggs in the shipping crate in the cow barn. If you put crops in the shipping bin after the man picks it up at 5pm it will go bad and you will not get the money for it.

Yourself

You should take good care of yourself by going to sleep early every night so you do not become tired. Do not stay up too late and work too hard especially on days that it is raining and the weather is bad. If you do that you might become sick and will need to take the next day off. If you become very tired you should buy a cake, food, drink, or even medicine to make your self healthy and to regain energy.

Your Dog

To call your dog press the left C button. Your dog will become happy if you put food in his dish but you do not have to feed it. You can enter your dog in the dog race in the winter so if you want to win take good care of it. Make your dog run by calling it with your whistle. This will make your dog faster. You can bring your dog in your house but he has his own doghouse that protects him against bad weather.

Your Horse

The right C button will call your horse. You should brush your horse everyday and talk to your horse if it is a pony. Also ride the horse when it grows up and continue to brush it. When he grows up you can put food into the saddlebag (on the horse) which saves time from going to the shipping crate. The better you take care of the horse the more stamina your horse will have to win the horse races.

The shops and other places

Visit the shops to buy goods and to talk with others. Each shop has it's own hours and day or days it is closed. To buy things at the carpenters house go up to the list, press the A button to look at it, and then pick out what you want. At the end of the year in the winter (last few days of winter) there will be raffles and you can be entered in them by buying flowers for the Flower Shop raffle and buying cakes for the Bakery raffle. Time does not pass in the shops or in any building so take your time to talk with others and shop around. (time passes in the cave behind the carpenter’s house) Go to shops and other buildings often to talk with your neighbors and to check if anything new is happening or if any new products have come in for you to buy. If you leave your farm and go to the right there is the vineyard and Moon Mountain. At the Moon Mountain there are non-crops and you can cut stumps there with your axe to get lumber. To get to the top of the mountain before there is the bridge climb up the tree behind the carpenters house. To get down just jump down somewhere around the tree that you climbed to get to the mountain. Try throwing a fish in the pond near the fisherman's tent and throw a vegetable into the pond past the carpenter’s house while standing on the bridge. If you leave your farm and go the left you will go to Green Ranch. Animals are sold there and so are animal items. Once you’re in Green Ranch take another left right when you come in to go to the beach.

People in the town
Make sure to talk with everyone in the town as much as possible and give them gifts like a flowers or something that does not cost you anything to get. If anyone becomes sick visit them. You will have to check on the people often because no one will tell you if someone is sick. Do not spend all your time planting and watering crops to become rich. Making friends is just as or more important than making lots of money. If you are nice to others they will start to be nice to you after a while. For example be nice to the inn worker who sells the drinks then he will give you a very old wine (Heaven's Gate). This wine will save the vineyard! Sometime when it’s the next fall you will have a dream about the vineyard and after that the vineyard becomes alive and every one is happier. Help anyone out when they are in a time of need and they will help you.

The Game

First thing you need to do is to clear your land of weeds, rocks, and stumps. You will have 300Gold to buy seeds. Once you clear the land you will need to till the soil with the Hoe. Next you should buy the seeds at Lilia's Flower Shop. I suggest that you buy cabbage seeds since they are sold for the most amount of money. You should use a 3 by 3 formation when planting the seeds because this is the best way to get the most money out of the seeds you bought.

You must water the seeds everyday. A very use full method is to water your crops at night and do the rest of things like talk to girls and ship things during the day. Since you have the extra time spend it finding fruits and other things you can sell. To find these things you must go to Moon Mountain. When you buy a greenhouse I suggest you plant lots of corn because you will never need to buy the seeds again. Plant flowers to make your neighbors happy.
Make sure to go all the events and festivals because as you participate in the events you will be more liked by others. When Rick is selling the bottle at one of the festivals buy it from him because you need it to buy medicine at the Potion Shop. Also there is traveling salesman who will try to rip you off. He will rip you off every time except at the Flower Festival when he will sell you a real power nut for 1,000 gold.
You should start looking for your girlfriend early in the game. You need to talk to her often and sometimes give her gifts. Also try to give the girl you like the gifts she really likes. For example Karen really like grapes and berries. When she gets one she will say something different to show she really likes it. She says "Kyaaaa. I love this. I am so happy" when she gets a berry or grape. (info about what they like at the people page) When it is your girl friends birthday give her gift. Also give gifts on other girls birthdays to make them happy.

Animals

You should continue to buy and sell crops until you get enough money to buy animals. You need to grow and cut grass for you to be able to buy animals. Starting out with chickens is a good idea because when you buy one it is grown up, they are cheap to buy, and do not require you to buy a brush to brush them and you do not need to talk to them. Don't move your chickens too often because they will not be happy. It is also easy to increase the amount of chickens because all you need to do is put an egg in the incubator. You need to feed the chicken’s chicken feed that is available at The Green Ranch if you keep them in the chicken coop. Do not hit your animals with any of your tools like the axe or hammer.
Later you can get cows and sheep but I prefer cows over sheep because they can become very profitable if you take good care of them. You can leave your animals outside in the grass fields during the spring through fall to save your fodder, chicken feed, and to make your animals happy. You must keep your animals fenced in and leave your cows and sheep grass from the grass field they are in. (chickens do not need food when they are outside) The grass must be fully grown for the animals to eat it and you need to have enough grass for all of the animals. If the fence breaks hit the broken piece with a hammer and put a new piece of wood in its place. (animals get scared and might not produce as much milk or any eggs if you do not fix the fence) If they are in the barn put the animal’s food in the stall where your animal name is on it. If you put it in another stall instead of your animal’s stall the animal will not eat. If it rains or a typhoon hit’s you should bring your animals inside (including your dog) and you must feed your animals every day or they could die and cows can even get sick. (sick animals do not give milk and need medicine to cure them)You should brush and talk to your Cows and Sheep every day. When the sheep becomes older you can cut it's wool and you should also milk the cows when it grows up. You can buy the milker, brush, and the item to cut the sheep’s wool at Rick's Tool Shop.
It's a good idea to plant lots of grass and cut it so you will not have to buy fodder for your sheep and cows if you run out in the winter. Remember to plan ahead.
Making improvements to you house

Make improvements to your home to impress your wife. You must make some improvements to your house to do certain things. You need a baby bed for your wife to get pregnant and a kitchen to propose to get married to your girlfriend. Making improvements to your house can have other benefits too. Having a kitchen allows you to store some items and a greenhouse allows you to plant crops all year around plus time does not pass in the greenhouse so you can stay in there as long as you like. A bathroom allows you to take baths and by doing that you can prevent sickness.

Marriage and children

To get married your girlfriend needs to have a red heart which means she is in love with you. (you must have a kitchen in your house) Now you will be able to go to Rick's Tool Shop and buy a blue feather when it becomes available. When you buy the blue feather give it to her when your are ready to ask for her to become your wife. The ceremony will be the next Sunday at the church if she accepts. Remember the day you married your wife because she will make a big dinner for you if go in the kitchen on that day. Now that you are married you should go to bed with your wife every night instead of staying up late and doing work. You should still bring her gifts if you want to have a child and try to make improvements on your house to impress her. If you treat her right she will become pregnant. (you must have a baby bed) She will tell you that she is pregnant and your baby will be coming soon. Do not expect to have the child right away because it will take many days for the child to be born. Once the child is born take good care of it and spend time with your new baby. You should not leave all the work of the child to your wife. Also you will want the baby to grow to love you so take good care of your child. Try to show the baby things to get it to talk (give it milk) and bring the baby with you when you walk around. (bring baby when it can not walk or crawl) You can only have one child.

The End

At the end of the game your father will come to check out your accomplishments. He will talk to many people and they will comment on specific things. Like for example the owner of the potion shop will tell your father how you treated your body and if you are healthy. Then your father will check out your farm and make some comments and later you will have a party with your close friends. After the ending is finished you can choose to quit the game or keep on playing.

Happily ever after!

Just because you father has come and looked at your accomplishments don't think the game is over. You can still have a child (if you have not had it yet) and your friends and neighbors will get married and could even have children too. Your child will grow up and will go through a few stages of childhood like from crawling to being able to walk. Also you can try to win some of those festivals you have lost and try to win the Dog and Horse Races. You can continue to build on your house and try to gain enough medals from the Horse and Dog Races to win a new horse stable and to get many other things. There are so many things that can happen that you at least missed some so keep playing and enjoy Harvest Moon 64!
