The first of the Harvest Moon series this RPG type of farming game was not expected to become popular. When the game was released it was that by surprise the game became mildly popular. People enjoyed the game and the idea of running your own farm instead of killing evil enemies or destroying everything that gets in your path. Seeing that people liked it the birth of the Harvest Moon series was created.
This game story line is that a farm is given to you by your grandfather and your job is to make the farm become prosperous. You start out by taking care of crops by planting and watering them. As the game continues you will be able to get chickens and cows. You also have to make trips to the town where you can talk to people and buy things from the stores. There is also a mountain where you can cut stumps for wood and find non-crops to sell like mushrooms. You can also date, get married to one of the five girls available, and you could even have a child with them. You can also enjoy festivals, improve your house, and do lots more.
Overall this is great game so if you missed it be sure to give Harvest Moon 64 a chance or if you have Game Boy there is Harvest Moon Game Boy and Game Boy Color.
