BOYZONE IN THE MILLENNIUM

Ronan

How do you think the world will change in the millennium?
I don’t think the Millennium will change a thing, although it’ll be something for people to talk about for a couple of weeks. It’ll just be another year.

Do you plan to visit the Millennium Dome?
I will, because I’m sure Boyzone will do something there. I definitely won’t be there on New Year’s Eve 1999, though!

What will you be doing?
I’ll have a quiet one at home and chill out with my mates. I don’t want to do anything too mad. I just want to be around all the people I care about.

What do you think we’ll all be eating in ten years time
I think that as long as we can keep the countryside healthy, we’ll always have vegetables and food. (Looks concerned) Sadly, we’ll probably destroy this earth one day and they’ll have to invent some kind of instant food to keep us going.

What will we all be watching?
The same as we are now - Neighbours and Coronation Street! I won’t be watching anything because I don’t watch TV, I prefer to watch movies.

Where will we go on holiday?
Probably to the moon or to space stations. It'll be different, won’t it? And probably a bit scary. Mind you, by the time we get to the point where it’s easy to travel to the moon, it won’t seem quite so weird. (Thinks.) But it just is weird isn’t it?

Shane

What do you think the future will be like?
I don’t know about the rest of the world, but I know what mine’ll be like. It’ll be very quiet and now I’m married I want to start a family.

Does the future scare you?
I think technology is a very scary thing and I reckon all the science fiction that we see on TV will eventually come true.

What are your plans for the future?
I’d really like to become a racing driver. I’ve been getting into it a lot recently. That’s my dream!

What will you be doing on New Year’s Eve 1999?
I’m sure I’ll be with my wife somewhere, but I couldn’t tell you where. As long as I’m with her, I’ll be happy.

Steve

What do you think the future will be like?
Like that film The Fifth Element, with flying cars and loads of amazing technology. I’d like the future to hold new cures, less troubles and more kindness and good stuff. I hope that people realise there’s nothing to gain from wars and badness, but there’s loads to gain out of being loving and giving.

Does the future scare you?
Not really. I think it’s quite exciting. I hope that aliens come down to visit us, because I think it’d be a shame if they didn’t!

What are your plans for the future?
I don’t really know yet. I hope I’m gonna be happy and successful, but I’m sure that’s what everyone hopes. I may have a solo deal, who knows? I want to try everything!

What will you be doing on New Year’s Eve 1999?
I don’t know, because every New Year’s Eve I sit in on my own and drink a bottle of champagne. That’s how I celebrate. I’ll probably have my own party because it’s one year you totally have to celebrate.

Keith

What do you think the future will be like?
I think it’ll be like The Fifth Element too. I reckon computers will eventually take over everything. I like life the way it is at the moment and I don’t see any need for changing, but it’s bound to happen. From an ignorant man’s point of view, things like a united Ireland would be brilliant, but I know it’s not that simple.

What do you think your future will be like?
I think that I’m afraid of the future in some way and that’s why I try to live day by day. At the moment, I’m happy being part of Boyzone, so we’ll have to see what happens.

What will you be doing on New Year’s Eve 1999?
I’ll be having a big party will all my friends and family. I’ve practically planned it all already, so I can’t wait!

Mikey

What do you think the future will be like?
I’d like to see the world finally get to the stage where mankind realises that it’s being idiotic and stops destroying the world, making it a better place to live. If we could get rid of evil, everyone would be happy, but unfortunately mankind is always striving to become more powerful.

Does the future scare you?
Yes, I worry that technology might go too far. I'd like the world to be a nice peaceful place where everyone can live in harmony and do good for each other. There's too much greed and poverty in the world - i's not a nice place at the moment. I don’t want my daughter to grow up in a world that isn't nice.

What are your plans for the future?
I'd like to see myself not having to rush around as much as I do now. I'd like to have more time to spend with my child and have more children. I'd also like to have a solo career at some point and maybe some businesses. And who knows, maybe even an acting career!
