Here is the History of Wild Roam Weyr.
The Founding of Wild Roam Weyr and Wild Roam Hold
The Northern Continent of Pern was spread with a deadly plague, which claimed many lives. A young Queen Rider at Fort decided that Pern needed a new Weyr, away from the diseased North, As the Red Star would be passing in fifty or so turns, raining down the deadly threads that would destroy Pern.
So the young GoldRider set out on her Great Beast Kilnath to the Southern Continent, they found a area of large, isolated mountains, Where the disease couldn't posibly of spread.So the young Queen Rider moved there with her beast, taking many other Dragons, Riders and Crafters to her new Weyr.
A group of people came with them, Forming the only Hold that supplied the Weyr with it's tithe.
The Weyr was named 'Wild Roam Weyr' to represent the wild roaming Jalin did to find the spot suitable for the Weyr. The Hold named 'Wild Roam Hold' after its Weyr.
When first founded the Weyr was nearly five hundred dragon's strong.
The Times Between
A few months after they riders had settled in the new Weyr, a message came from Fort. All the other Queen's were Dead or Dieing, No Gold eggs were on the sands. With Wild Roam having three Gold's, they sent two of them North, One too Fort, and one too Benden. Only Jilan and Gold Kilnath stayed a Wild Roam, Keeping a scant hundred anf fifty dragons, in the Weyr that had before housed five hundred.
Nontheless, The Weyr Prospered, Golden Kilnath layed a gold every turn for around ten turns. Most of these young Gold's were sent to the other Weyr's, Including others that had been founded in the southern continent. But alot of the girls that impressed these Golds were weak, many too careless with danger. Kilnath stayed as Wild Roam Weyr's only Queen.
Now...
Recently Kilnath has layed two Queens, which have been impressed to strong WeyrWomen, But the WeyrWoman has developed a fever, and in her old age isn't getting any better. After fighting the fever for a few sevendays the WeyrWoman has died, Her Queen sought the blackness and eternal peace of between. Now they Weyr looks to the two young WeyrWomen to guide them through the Pass of the Red Star, which should be happening in a rough ten turns.
