Twins! (June 2, 2004)

Patti and Clark went to Jordan Valley Hospital about 6:30 PM on June 2, 2004. After monitoring, our doc decided it was time for a C-Section. Isabelle Lake was delivered at 10:34 PM (5 lbs. 3 oz., 17 3/4"), and Julianna Jane at 10:37 PM (5 lbs. 5 oz., 19 1/4"). The twins had some initial respiratory distress, but after about thirty minutes they had pinked up and they are all (mom and girls) now doing very well. The NICU nurses say that Julianna is the troublemaker.

Julianna Jane is named for Julian Asa Laws, Clark's mom's dad, and Jane Cadwallader Brown (Julian's great-great-great-grandma). I'll leave it up to Patti to explain Isabelle (Patti calls her Belle, because even though she was born first she ended up as 'Baby B'), and Lake is a place name--for the Great Salt Lake; and like the Great Salt Lake, Isabelle is either calm and peaceful or stormy and wild (and I'm sure she'll go through her stinky phase, too).
