| Timothy’s Cupboard is an outreach ministry of Timothy Lutheran Church In November 1991, Timothy Lutheran Church opened Timothy’s Cupboard, a food ministry to help less fortunate families living in Cherokee County. The food bank is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. by appointment. Ordinarily we do not know the people who come to our cupboard for help (Christ said, "if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?"). Nor do we know the impact we have on their life beyond a handout ("who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think," ). But we do have the opportunity to share God’s grace with all ("love one another as I have loved you" ). This little ministry of ours has grown over the past 9 years, offering food to over 4,000 persons in 1999 alone. We are known to area schools, churches, agencies (government and charitable) throughout the county and of our desire to minister aid through our food bank. Small grants, cash gifts and food drives from outside the church boundaries have provided support, thus supplementing our ministry and enabling us to reach more and further. Every member of Timothy is a part of this ministry, rejoicing in the opportunities to share God’s gifts with others and more importantly His Word!
