How do a Crossdresser born
Part II
Because of an unhappy situation we came back to Brazil in January 1999, I say "we" because the people who came were Betina and I. She existed officialy. The surname came only after a saw that in the Brazilian Crossdressers Club (see site at www.bccclub.com.br) everyone had a last name. The mine is the translation of my real name into the German language.
After some weeks I found a job over here, in Sao Paulo, and knew my S/O (Significant Other or Supportive Opposite - for those who don't know, this means: my GG - Genetic Girl - girlfriend). Our life, in the beginning was like every ordinary relationship between a man and a woman. I risked even losing her now, by telling her the truth about Betina Edelmann. In the same wonderful way that it was in Germany with my girlfriend there, Ana accepted Betina. We passed through some conflicts wich brought us many difficult moments. Nowadays we share the same closet. We are, besides girlfriends, two dear friends, and the people who know her like her very much. I want to express here my deepest gratitude and my fondest love to Ana.
But the hardest part was still to come: telling my family about Betina. My Mother is a very good and opened minded woman, but this didn't mean she would easily accept my way of life, (at least that's what I thought). I told my younger brother, of 21 years and a sister 34 years old. She is theinfamous owner of the "lingerie store drawer" that I used to raid.
Before I knew about the Brazilian Crossdresser Club, through the Internet, I used to go to the old downtown area here, to find out some more information about the people I thought they were most like me: the Drag Queens. Following their advice I started to take birth control pills. (What a very foolish thing I did! Please, don't do this girls!) I thank God that I met my CD friend Veronica Lane, who gave me the right advice at the right tiem, and stopped me from taking the wrong chemical that I was putting inside my body...
So I started to take female hormones, following proper medical advice, wich changed my body quite nicely. They gave me pretty breasts and they are slowly minimizing the male characteristics that I still have. The sensation is good but the price is high: there is one unpleasant side effect, it causes impotence when you start.
In the beginning of the year 2000, I discovered the BCC, thanks to the good God, while surfing the Internet, and I knew I wasn't alone in this world. I devoured the site, experiencing the deepest joy as I read and saw pictures of people who were going through the same changes as me. Also, I made contact with some CD friends through ICQ and then with Veronica Lane by the phone. We made an appointment to meed at a Shopping Center, where I went with my S/O. She brought another CD friend, Carmem Maura. Later, after many meetings, we went out together to the Carnival with Betina showing her true self, for my "very first time" out in my beloved city of Sao Paulo. Tina showd herself alive, happy, and feeling very much a woman. Nowadays I am, according to my Club friends, one of the wildest of the girls. I love to go out and I go everywhere without problems.
Well, I didn't tell you before, but I have also talked to my relatives about Tina. They weren't very happy, but at least they accepted me quite well. Now I believe that acceptance by other people depends only the way you expose the facts. Nobody isgoing to crucify you, or put you on the freezer, if you use the right words at the right time in telling that you are CD. If you really believe in yourself it isn't as bad as you think...
Now I can truly say I'm a fulfilled person because I found the courage to let Tina out of the closet. I have been accepted by the girls of BCC, who really are my people, and I have accepted myself as I am, former man, woman in transition, truly gender gifted and happy within myself
