War +
Emo TCR-003 |
| Recorded March 13, 2004 Started as a social studies project, the debut album from War + Emo features a drunken grindcore sing-a-long to the traditional Newfoundland song, I'se da Bye; Liqourice Comfits, a requiem for a lost uncle (he didn't fear the reaper); the surf instrumental Direct Drive Automatic Return; a harrowing rerecording of the hit Fuzzy the Bear (now with a drum machine!); Searching for Kung Fu, a tale of being lost and lonely in the world of Japanese Martial Arts films; and the album's centerpiece-of-sorts, the bluesy random-sound-fest of The Breadmaster says 'Yo!'. Track 1 is a traditional Newfoundland song. |
