Gareth Farrelly scored with his second touch for the Wanderers on his debut at Sheffield United. The midfielder had signed on a month's loan from Everton where he had been out of favour.

He saw the move to the Reebok as a chance to kick start his career after spending time in the wilderness at Everton. He was impressive in his early days and Sam moved quickly to make the move to the Reebok a permanent one.

The former Aston Villa and Republic of International believes the fans, like himself, will not dwell on his goal of two seasons ago that gave a lifeline to Everton and condemned the Wanderers to Division 1.

Injury has disrupted his early Wanderers career and faces a three match ban after being red carded in a reserves match against Liverpool.

Continued on the fringe of the squad for the rest of the season and will hope for a fuller role in what will be his first full season with the Wanderers from July.
