Profile

Joined the Wanderers from FC Copenhagen in August 1996 for a £350,000 fee and proved to be a vital midfield part of the teams first division championship success. Began his career with B1903, winning Danish representative honours at under 18 and under 21 level, his first cap coming against Germany in 1990. Per left Denmark to play with OSC Lille in France in 1991 but returned to FC Copenhagen in 1994 helping them to a Danish Cup success.

He opened his goal scoring account in England with a spectacular winner against Manchester City at Burnden Park in his first game on the ground. He is now a regular member of the Danish squad and took his tally to seven caps with an appearance in a 2-0 World Cup Qualifying win over Bosnia-Herzogovena in June.

Once again has been ever present in the team and has been a great help in helping fellow Dane Claus Jensen settle at the Reebok. His goals from midfield have been crucial and by the half way stage in the League Campaign has a tally of six and is on target to pass his total of seven League goals last season.

Perhaps will be remembered as the player that led to the resignation of Colin Todd. He was always favoured by the former manager, but he lost a boardroom battle to keep the Danish midfielder. Per joined Blackburn but retains a home in the Bolton area and strong links with the other Danes in the squad.

The midfielder failed to settle with Division 1 rivals Blackburn and in the summer of 2000 he returned to the Reebok in a £1.6m move. He scored from the penalty spot in the opening game of the season against Burnley.
