Ian Marshall |
Born : Liverpool 3/20/66 |
Liverpool-born Ian Marshall made his name as a striker at Oldham Athletic during the Latics' rise to England's top flight in the early 1990's. At Leicester he was used as a good Central Defender when needed. Marshall started his career at Everton and he made a handful of appearances and he still played in 1986 Charity Shield. Five years at Oldham enhanced his reputation and he made a big money move to Ipswich Town. He continued to score goals on a regular basis at Portman Road and although he was raching the age of 30, Martin O'Neill decided to bring the reliable Power-Horse to Filbert Street. He was released on a free transfer by Leicester in 2000 and Bolton snapped him up - he is currently on load until the end of the season (2000/2001). Although Marshall seems to be picking up niggling injuries that are keeping him out of the squad, when needed, he will provide strength and stability to the Wanderers defence - or he could move up front! |
