Cheryl's Page
This
is Cheryl. I took these pictures up at the Rose Gardens. I shot this photo with
100 asa Kodak film. I changed to a higher shutter speed of around 500 and set my
aperture to 2.0 This shorten my depth of field, and kept Cheryl and the rose in
focus, but the back ground slightly blurred. A white reflector card was placed
on a tripod to the left of Cheryl to give her some highlighting on her left
side. There's a little trick for you.
In this photo I was running out of light, so I had to work fast. I wanted to high light Cheryl's hair so again I used a white foam core board placed on a tripod, right behind and above her, to create the almost washed out look in her hair. This would also be call a hot spot, but due to Cheryl's blond fine hair, it gave the shot the little extra highlight it needed. By positioning Cheryl at an angle to the green path, and having her stretch her legs, emphasized her natural long legs. Cheryl was real sport having to change in the public restroom, fix her hair and get ready for the next shot. It was a warm day about 85. She never broke a sweat, however I did. Cheryl is a very pretty lady.
This is another depth of field shot, this time the foreground is blurred and
Cheryl in the background is in focus. I enjoy working with Models who like to
experiment. Most of the Models I work with are friends from work or the wife or
girlfriend of a friend. It amazes me when I ask a lady to model for me most will
say I don't think I am pretty enough to model. I say they were wrong. Don't You!
