Knock once and say "Hekas Hekas Este Bebeloi" (há-käs es-tá bé-bá-loi). |
This is an announcment for any being unworthy to leave now. Primarily it is to let any spirits in the nearby vicinity to leave before they get unwantedly banished. Knocking can be acomplished by rapping the bottom of a handheld implement, ringing of a bell, stomp or clap. Snapping fingers seems to informal or arrogant. |
Optionally perform desired banishing ritual. |
This is not part of the normal ceremony format. However it is common practice for solitary magicians to do banishing now, e.g. LBRP and LBRH. Do not invoke since that is specific to the actual working and best after general openings. |
Awake officers if desired. |
Following normal format the officer god-forms are awaked now with their speeches on wher they are, what they do, and what they carry represent. Most skip it unless doing actual initiations or have a group. |

Take the cup of water and head to the East. Make a cross with it, Greek or Cavlary. Then sprinkle three times as in the diagram, i.e. invoking Water triangle. Reapeat in the South, West, and North. Return to center and say "I purify this temple with Water." |
This is the purification by water. Make sure to mentaly focus and concentrate on purifying with water, and not just doing the sprinkling. I.e. know, feel, visulize the water cleaning and washing the area. |

Take the insence and head to the East. Make a cross with it, Greek or Cavlary. Then sprinkle three times as in the diagram, i.e. invoking Fire triangle. Reapeat in the South, West, and North. Return to center and say "I concecrate this temple with Fire." |
As with the Water, focus on concecrating with Fire. Some magicians use the word "sanctified" instead. Also in some practices magicians use the elemental invokations of Water and Fire from the Opening by Watertower before proceding with the purificaitons and concecrations. Also some magicians purify and concecrate themselves int he center of the work space after the quarters. |
In the Northeast facing center say "Let the Mystic Circamulation take place in the Pathway of Light" or "As the sun is a dispender of visible light to the Earth, so therefore let me form a vortex that the invisible Sun of the Spirit may shine therein." |
This part draws down LVX into the workspace and has a similar effect to the Middle Pillar ritual or Analysis of the Keyword. Until the LVX is returned the via the Reverse form, the magician should always walk clockwise in the workspace and form the Projecting Gesture when crossing the East. |
Walk clockwise along the perimeter of the workspace three times, forming the Projecting Gesture when crossing the East. After the thrid gesture return to the center of the workspace and say "The Mystic Circumambulation symbolic of the Rise of Light is accomplished. |
When walking do it slowly as if in a procession. Think of a graduation or wedding march. Usualy the magician has some visualizing of Light comming down to aid this. It can be a Sun rising in the East, Light floating down, or a whirlpool of light developing like contour lines of water being stirred by hand in a bucket. |
Say "Holy art thou Lord of the Universe." Give the Projecting Gesture. Say "Holy art thou whom Nature hath not formed." Give the Projecting Gesture. Say "Holy art thou the vast and mighty One." Give the Projecting Gesture. Say "Ruler/Lord of the Light and the Dark." Give the Protecting Gesture. |
This is the Adoration. The first title declares part of Deum's domain, the second affirms a non-pantheistic view, the third alludes to the gift "Fear of the Lord", and the final affirms its omnipotence since both sides of duality are included. |
Say "In the name of the Lord of the Universe, who works in silence and naught by silence can express, I declare that the Sun has arisen and the Shadows flee away. |
Although the silence aspects of Deum expressed here are remants of the secret societies and mystery cults this bestows common wisdom. In order to know Deum one first has to STFU, so it can be heard. |

Everthing is setup so commence with the working here. |

Knock once and say "Hekas Hekas Este Bebeloi" (há-käs es-tá bé-bá-loi). |
Same as above, but for any spirits summoned after the opening. |
Take the cup of water and purify as in the opening but with the banishing Water triangle. |
Form the triangle counter clockwise. |
Take the insence and concecrate as in the opening but with the banishing Fire triangle. |
Again counter clockwise. |
Reverse cicuambulate with the phrases "Let the Mystic Reverse Circumambulation take place in the Pathway of Light," and "The Mystical Circumambulation is accomplished. It is a symbol of Fading Light." |
Same as the normal one, but go counter clockwise and form the Protecting Gesture when crossing the East. Return to the center after the third gesture. Also if you visualized Light building up in the opening, see it get diminished but not totaly gone. Like putting on sunglasses, a lamp shade, or a cloud passing by. The light is still there but "dampened." |
Adoration. |
Just like before with the three Projections and one Protecting. |
Commune in the Mystic Repast if desired. |
Following the normal format in which a person was initated this is section demonstrating the canditate as now "part of the group." Most magicians skip this unless they are actualy initing someone or in group working. |
Perform any banishings or Licences to Depart if desired. |
Like in the opening this is common practice for magicians and not official parts of the format. |
If desired say "I now release any Spirits which may have been imprisoned in this ceremony. Go forth into thy homes and habitations with the blessings of YHShVH YHVShH. |
This is the License to Depart that is not an original part of the format, but from the elemental ones. Most magicians include this if they summoned an enity to be through in their banishings. |
Say "I now declare this temple duly closed," and give a knock. |
Again this is not an official part but derived from the other openings as a substitution for the dimassal which is part of the Mystic Repast. Some like to add the phrase "So mote it be," but it is redudant since the word duly already implicitly imperative.
