Sri Kalahasthi Temple is located at a distance of 45 Kms. from Tirupati town.

Sri Kalahasthi is most famous as "Dakshina Kasi". The Lord Shiva is in the form of "Vayur Lingam". The puranas tells that, here Sree ( spider ), Kala (Serpent ), Hasthi (Elephant ) has attained Mukthi ( Salvation ) by praying this God, hence the name Sree Kalahasthi.
This temple is famous for Rahu Kala Poojas, "Rahu Kethu Shanty" Poojas, and "Sarpa Dosha Nivarana" Poojas. People across the world do this poojas here and try to free from their eternal problems. The temple Administration is maintained by "Sri Kalahasthi devasthanams".
Here Baktha Kannappa ( a tribal person ) attained Mukthi by offering his eyes to Lord.
