About Two km from Tirumala temple is a rare, naturally formed arch, belived to be the source of Lord Venkateswara's idol - The rocks formed into a conch, discus and snake hoods give credance to this belief. Geologists have identified the rocks on the hill as pre-Cambrian, and this arch formation suggests an antiquity of several million years to the Tirumala hill.  It is said that there are only two other natural rock arches of such great antiquity in the world.
Sri Venkateswara Dhyana Vignan Mandiram
Originally Sri Venkateswara Museum was established in 1980.A new building has been constructed and it is named as S.V.Dhyana Vignana Mandiram. All the items of artistic value have been shifted from S.V.Museum, Tirupati to S.V.D.V.M. Devotees are also provided facilities to mediate in the newly build mandiram
