Ho0w busy is the Lord:
Tituals from part of the Hindu philosophy. They have an inner significance.
All are intended at appeasing the presiding deity. It is not out of place to mention
here about the nine types of devotion that a devotee should possess as described in
puranas--Sravanam (listing to the glories of the Lord);Smaranam Keerthanam (singing the
praises of the Lord); Smaranam (remembering the Lord's name);Archanam (offering
worship);Vandanam (prostration);Seva (service); Sakhyam (friendship);Padasevawnam
(worshipping the feet of the Lord) and Atmanivedanam (complete surrender).
Of the nine forms of devotion, Archanam,Vandanam, Seva and Padasevanam have
occupied a pride of place. The reason is not beyond one's comprehension. They can be physically performed and enjoyed. Thus, a number of forms of worship are performed to the Lord in a day begining from the Suprabhata Seva
(waking up the Lord by chanting Suprabhatam at around 2.30 a.m.). The rituals end with the Ekanta Seva ,also called Pavvalimpu seva, at around 1.15 a.m.(going to bed). Each seva has its own significance and priority. Thus, the ever-busy Lord hardly has an hour to take rest.
SUPRABHATHAM:The seva will be performed at around 2.30 in the morning. The temple priests chant the Suprabhatam..Kausalya supraja rama...It is intended at waking up the Lord. It is performed at the Bangaru vakili (golden entrance). The golden gates will be opened only after the Suprabhatam. The darshan the devotees have during the Suprabatham is also called Viswaroopa darshan.
