Getting the full text of articles is not always possible over the Internet . Hence many academic publishers have designed Web pages for each of their journals, wherein they list the current contents of the latest edition of the journal with abstracts. A regular scan of relevant journal Web pages can help to keep up to date with new articles as they appear.
International Social Science Journal
A hard-copy UNESCO publication, founded in 1949, aims to be 'international in scope and authorship bridging the communities of social scientists between disciplines, and between different parts of the globe. It is interdisciplinary and international, diffusing information and debate to the widest possible audience. A full-text online version of recent issues is available for institutions that subscribe to the hard copy.

The SSRN (Social Science Research Network)
Is devoted to the rapid world-wide dissemination of social science research and is composed of a number of specialised research networks in each of the social sciences to encourage the distribution of research results by submitting abstracts. Currently the database contains all abstracts published in the Journal of Financial Abstracts from its inception through August 1995 (about 1500 abstracts of different papers). The database contains the abstracts for both the Journal of Financial Abstract's Accepted Paper Series and Working Paper Series, the author and/or working paper co-ordinator's contact information (E-mail address, Phone Number, Fax Number, and Postal Address) as well as information about how to get a copy of the paper and any associated charges. They will soon be adding information from the Journal of Accounting Abstracts, Law and Economics Abstracts, and our other new SSRN journals.
Population Index on the Web
This is the online version of Population Index. It covers all fields of interest to demographers from 1986 onwards. It can be searched in a variety of ways in addition to free text searching.
