Scouting: A well rounded, talented 2 way player..Is a speedy skater with good agility and can catch up to streaking players in a hurry .. Solid forechecker.. Mitchell's main skill is his defense.. Always the first forward back and one of the last to leave the zone barring puck control.. Finishes his hits although isnt what you call a physical player.. Backchecks and covers his man very well. Used in a trap system in Plymouth and excells in it... Developing set of offensive skills including good puckhandling and sharp and creative passing. Has a nice wrist shot which he should start burying more with time.. gets many scoring chances because of his speed and aggressive style.. Unfortunitly is a victim of inconsistancy at times will look dominating defensively, then other shifts not so great. One of my favorites in the 2003 draft and could turn into another John Madden, Guy Carboneau type of player in the NHL. The type of player every team needs. |
