2:18 AM: Ship's lights turns off, turns on, then turns off forever. The ship splits in two between the third and fourth funnel. Bow section sinks, stern section levels off in the water. 2:20 AM: After a few minutes, the stern section starts to fill up with water, and rises up to a 90 degree angle, and stays there for a few minutes. Passangers fall off every other second. Finally, it starts to lower into the water, and disaspears into the water. The suction from it pulls people down with it. Those left in the icy waters slowly freeze to death. 3:30 AM: The rescue ship Carpathia's rockets are spotted by survivors in the boats. 4:10 AM: The first lifeboat is picked up by the Carpathia 8:50 AM: The Carpathia leaves the area bound for New York. She carries with her a total of 705 passangers. April 18: 9:00 PM: Carpathia arrives in New York. April 19-May 25: An inquiry into the Titanicdisaster is conducted in the United States Senate. April 22-May 15: Several ships are sent to the disaster site to recover bodies. A total of 328 bodies are found floating in the area. May 2-July 3: The British inquiry is conducted. 1913 April: As a result of the disaster, the International Ice Patrol is created to prevent disasters like this one to ever happen again. 1914 February: The Titanic's second sister ship, the Britannic, is launched. She sunk two years later, durring WWI. 1935 After 24 years of safe and reliable service, the Titanic's oldest sister ship, the Olympic, is retired, and scrapped. 1985 September 1: A joint French-American scientific expedition led by Dr. Robert Ballard Discovers the wreck of the Titanic. 1986 July: Dr. Ballard returns to the wreck. In a submarine, he explores and photographs the entire wreck. 1987 The US Congress moves to make the Titanic an international memorial.
