Twin Towers. Heavy hearts……tears shed and unshed. Many suffering, many dead. Through act of will, through act of shame And now it's done, what do they gain? Rubble piles, mangled debris strewn O' er what was once a buzzing booming Business world. Now dusty grave. And now it's done, who can be saved? Aching hearts, for all of those who weep. We weep as one and will together, keep A silent vigil, spent in prayer. And now it's done, does our God care? How He cares. Now His heart is breaking Grieving, bursting, longing, aching, For His children wandering lost. And now it's done, what is the cost? Leaders meeting, baying for war. Spill more blood than shed before. Hearts are crying, "stop this pain…… Now it's done, what is there to gain? Give them wisdom, Lord we pray, May they handle this Your way? Don't let pain and fury rise and ugliness In all things be. Strengthen, comfort those who mourn. Tomorrow, let there be a dawn Of knowing You will judge and punish All those who go free. Now it's done, what can mortals do? Now it's done, Let's trust dear Lord in You. Margaret Dye. 15th. September 2001. |
