The new TV movie John Sandford's 'Mind Prey' (9 p.m., ABC) stars Eriq LaSalle ("ER") as Detective Lucas Davenport, the hero of Sandford's series of crime novels. Davenport engages in a battle of wills with a psycho (Titus Welliver from "Brooklyn South") who has kidnapped a mother and her kids.

Television movie based on the novel, "Mind Prey," by John Sanford, featuring the character Detective Davenport, who is also the center of a series of John Sanford novels. Detective Lucas Davenport searches for sociopath John Mail, who has imprisoned psychiatrist Andi Manette and her two young daughters. Mail is seeking revenge for having been sent to a mental hospital by Manette. Davenport must find Mail before his victims are dead and also must find the mysterious "Bluebird" who uses e-mail to goad Mail to murder.
