[We ought to stay together.] You tell the other two. [There's no point in us getting separated now. We'll just end up running up and down trying to find one another again.]
The other two agree that you have a point and the three of you begin to creep around the edges of the courtyard, trying to keep out of sight of the smoked glass in the main doors. Megabyte indicates an alley that runs down one side of the building and it's not long before you find a small side door concealed behind an industrial sized dustbin.
Megabyte waves a hand over the alarmed lock, even as his other fans his face to try and get rid of the smell of the bin. You pull a face in agreement about the smell and then Adam pushes you forward and through the door. You stumble slightly over the door frame and then turn around to look at Adam in confusion.
[What about the alarm on the door?]
[Megabyte deactivated it.] Adam tells you and Megabyte wiggles his fingers at you. [Didn't you feel it?]
You shrug. The truth is that your headache is coming back and now you're even more worried than before. From what the others had said you had the idea that that wasn't meant to happen any more.
[Come on.] Megabyte says. [We need to look around this place, try to figure out what they do here and what they did to you. We need to find Kev, too] He frowns and switches to a harsh whisper. "To tell you the truth something feels a but odd now we're inside. It's harder to talk, almost as if something's draining my powers."
Adam nods and he's looking worried too. You get the feeling that they expected that once they were in here it would be easy to find Kevin and teleport out again. Now it looks like it's not going to be that simple.
"Alright", Adam whispers. "I'll look in this room. Jay, you take that one and Megabyte, the one over there. Look for papers, equipment, anything that will give us a hint as to what all this is all about. And stay within calling range."
You nod your silent agreement and head into the room Adam indicated.
At first sight the room looks as if it hasn't been used for years. Dust covers every surface and the computer that sits on a desk in a corner of the room looks positively archaic. There's a second door at the rear of the office but you hesitate before going through it. Perhaps the computer has some files that will tell you what you want to know. You hit the on switch and wait impatiently for the computer to boot. It clunks and whirs and you completely fail to hear the footsteps of the man who is creeping up behind you.
Suddenly a large hand closes over your mouth and you realise with rising panic that the throbbing headache that his been worsening since you entered the building is stopping you from calling the others telepathically. You feel your arms forced into a thick, heavy waistcoat as a second man steps in to help. The waistcoat feels hard under it's thin fabric covering and you see a glint of circuit boards and electronic components inside it when you glance down, still struggling with the man who's holding you.
You're headache is begging to subside but the waistcoat is becoming uncomfortably warm around your chest as you are half pulled, half carried through the room's second door and through an impenetrable maze of corridors. Finally you're thrown through a door and the hand covering your mouth is released. It's far too late though for you to call out to Adam or Megabyte and, with the waistcoat on, you can't seem to feel any sense of their presence even though your headache has now subsided.
There's nothing in the room that will help you escape so you settle down on the room's only piece of furniture, a chair, to wait.
