It was a hard decision to step aside from the joys and pains of being a Tomorrow Person. Even now, a year after you broke out that it's still what you are, deep down.
When you announced your decision everyone was disappointed but understanding. You have your own life to lead, exams to pass, university to think about. Running from secret agents, battling ancient evil, foiling alien invasions, all that and leading a normal life is just too much to ask for.
You rarely use your gifts these days. That was part of the commitment you made when you stepped away. Just occasionally you give in and teleport. Once in a while you use your telepathy to empathise with an upset friend. Your powers are atrophying though. The decision you made is working on a sub-conscious level to stop you feeling them. You still visit the island every few months but you've stopped feeling the other Tomorrow People and their perils unless you're focusing on them directly.
Nonetheless, you're sure you made the right decision. And you know, deep down, that if ever the other Tomorrow People really need you, you'll be there for them.
It's a beautiful summer Sunday afternoon and you're strolling through the park where it all began.
You smile.
Life is good.
