TP Filming and Other Locations - Unknowns

Unknown Locations

Original Series

Bentham Hall:
(Slaves of Jedikiah) unknown. May be Lord Guildford's home (Commentary)

Forbes Castle:
(Castle of Fear, War of the Empires) Probably in Surrey. Scenes from the same story filmed at Leith Hill and Frensham Great Pond.

Police Station:
(A Man for Emily) unknown. Not Teddington according to local policeman at the time.

Roads and Wastelands:
(The Blue and the Green) The precise roads and wastelands used for filming 'The Blue and the Green' and for the chase scene in `Dirtiest Business' are unknown. No real clues.

SIS safehouse:
(Dirtiest Business) May be in Bishop's Avenue according to comments in script.

New Series

Note: Filming locations for the Origin Story are complicated by the fact that a never-screened pilot episode was filmed some months before the Origin Story proper. Footage shot for this pilot was filmed on location in Florida , and supplemented by filming meant to represent the same places, but located in the UK. It's also interesting to note that although the location shooting schedule for the Rameses Connection provides a comprehensive list of locations, many are misspelt (i.e. `7 Drew Castle' for Severndroog Castle), and several appear to have changed after the schedule was created (notably Millicent's home).

Airport where WorldEx meets Connor:
(The Culex Experiment) Unknown.

Ami Jackson's House:
(Monsoon Man) Unknown

Army Base:
(Living Stones) Unknown. Palladian stately home.

Aunt Ruth's Cottage:
(The Culex Experiment) The location of Aunt Ruth's cottage is unknown.

Beth's Lab:
(Living Stones) `Barnsley Street, unit 14'. There is a Barnsley Street in the Bethnal Green area of East London, although this seems unlikely as the intended base of a scientist at Kew Gardens (in West London). The novelisation by Nigel Robinson gives the location as in a development on the banks of the Thames.

Cobb Cereal Corporation HQ:
(Monsoon Man) Exterior is Minster Court. Interior is unknown.

Conference Hotel:
(The Culex Experiment) Conference hotel patronised by delegates.

Culex's London Headquarters:
(The Culex Experiment) Unknown. Building is a strange mixture of art deco and classical styles. It has a square porch section with columns on the corners.

Galt's Laboratory:
(The Origin Story) Unknown. Supposedly at `London University'. Might well be the main administration building at Brunel University.

Hillside Rendesvouz:
(Origin Story) Hillside rendezvous with Lady Mulvaney - maybe on the Dorset coastline? Vegetation (ferns, heathers and evergreen shrubs) and landscape looks about right but see note about helicopter associated with Lady Mulvaney's House.

Hospital:
(Living Stones) Hospital where Damon is taken - has simularities to the Worldex headquarters in Culex, but looks like a real hospital. .

The Island:
(Origin Story) The Island - Some scenes were certainly shot in Florida . Others were set on a nudist's beech in Dorset (according to a Kristian Schmid interview, and locations reports in TV Zone magazine). There are actually 6 naturist beaches in Dorset. The Island was meant to be in the South Pacific (according to Megabyte in 'The Culex Experiment'.) Some scenes were shot in a swimming pool as the water in September is cold. .

Les Bishop's Country Cottage:
(Monsoon Man) Unknown

Lisa's Apartment:
(Origin Story) Lisa's Apartment (number 376) - again, two distinct buildings were used for filming and appear in the Origin Story, presumably one in Florida and one in the UK.

Lisa's School:
(Origin Story) Lisa's School in Clearwater, Virginia - different buildings in the pilot and series. The US filming was almost certainly in Florida rather than Virginia. An alley in West London was used for the truck scene according to a report in TV Zone magazine (TV Zone, #36, On Location with the Tomorrow People). The UK location could be Tasis - the American school near Guildford according to Roger Price.

Megabyte's House:
(Origin Story) Megabyte's House (The Ridge), presumably intended to be in the same area as Kevin's home (Twickenham). The architecture is consistent with other large houses in the Strawberry Hill area.

Middlemass's House:
(Monsoon Man) Middlemass's house - in Bayswater according to script?

Quasar Arena:
(The Culex Experiment) Unknown. Probably not enough information to ever identify it. There are currently Quasar arenas at 13 Junction Road, London, N19, and in six locations outside of central london. There are now a number of other laser tag companies (Laser Quest, for example), although the scenes on-screen are associated with the classic Quasar game of the mid-nineties. A now defunct Quasar arena in Slough was used for filming the BBC's Thirty Years in the TARDIS, also in 1993 according to Gary Russell. This may have been convenient for filming given other Slough locations in the same story.

Quentin Darcy Casting:
(Monsoon Man) Unknown. Could be near Picadilly Circus since the actress is crossing past Eros during the pursuit.

Police Station:
(The Culex Experiment) The location of the police station is unknown although it has architectural simularities to the hospital.

`The Reporter' Headquarters:
(Monsoon Man) Unknown. ``A side street in West London, the home of several disused office blocks and factories being used by the film crew'' was used for the truck scene according to a report in TV Zone magazine (TV Zone, #50, On Location with the Tomorrow People).

Warehouse:
(Monsoon Man) Unknown

Wasteland:
(Monsoon Man) Wasteland and Roadside Cafe and Service Station. The service station displays a phone number local to Slough, while the petrol station beside it appears to be a Texaco.
