Aajmaii and Cilaynth

What do you mean you don’t want to go down to the lake? The green-gold asked her rider.
I can’t right now Cilaynth, I’m in class. I just can’t get up and go down to the lake with you, Jaamiaa replied.
Her dragon snorted mentally and said, Well that’s ridiculous. You should be able to leave class whenever you please. I mean, you would be leaving to take care of your dragon afterall.
It doesn’t work that way Cilaynth, Jaamiaa said as she tried to block her dragon’s voice out.
You can’t block me out Jaamiaa, but even if you could you’re not skilled enough to do so, Cilaynth pointed out.
Jaamiaa sighed and said, Cilaynth, ask Aajmaii if she’ll take you down. I’m sure she will because she likes to lay by the side of the lake just like you do.
Really? Cilaynth asked.
Jaamiaa nodded mentally and said, Yes I’m sure she will. When her dragon didn’t say anything she sighed in relief and turned her concentration back to the board.
“Am I… boring you Jaamiaa?” Her instructor asked.
She jumped and said, “No sir, it was just my dragon…” She let her voice trail off but continued to look the instructor directly in the eyes.
The man frowned and said, “Well then would you please block her out so that you can continue to learn?”
Jaamiaa blushed slightly and said, “I don’t know how sir.” At this there were a few snickers from the back, which caused her to blush even more.
Her instructor sighed and said, “Well I’ll go over that with you later but for now let’s finish up the lesson on feeding habits.”
Jaamiaa picked up her pencil again and turned her attention back to the board, ready to take notes if she needed to.
Later that day, after class had ended, Jaamiaa walked down to the lake to look for her dragon. When she didn’t see Cilaynth’s golden wing sails she was about to give up and go back up to the weyr, figuring she was up there instead.
Did you have fun in class today? Her dragon asked her.
Jaamiaa looked around and then finally spotted Cilaynth sitting at the edge of the lake with Jaamiaa’s twin sister. She walked over to them and patted Cilaynth lightly. “How long have you been down here?” She asked her sister.
Aajmaii shrugged and said, “A couple hours only. She wanted to go down while you were in class so I brought her.”
Jaamiaa nodded and said, “Yes I know she wanted to go. She was trying to convince me to leave class so that I could sit by the lake with her.”
Aajmaii smiled and said, “That sounds like Cilaynth now doesn’t it?”
Cilaynth warbled and turned to look at her rider. You are not mad at me are you? She asked hopefully.
Jaamiaa smiled and hugged her dragon’s neck. “Of course I’m not mad at you,” she said.
