{Hatchling}

I’ren opened the door to his weyr and walked in, closing it quietly behind him. It was still very early and he was sure that his sister, who had come to visit him, was still asleep.

He tiptoed to Talavarianth’s chamber and slipped silently through the door, smiling when he saw his brown twitch in his sleep, knowing his rider was near. I’ren walked up to him and kneeled down, rubbing the brown eyeridge lightly. Talavarianth crooned softly and opened one eye lazily.

You are up quite early I’ren. What have you been up to?

I’ren shrugged and said, “I went down and ordered some food, which should be up in an hour if they don’t get backed up.”

Talavarianth snorted and said, Considering the sun is not up yet, I do not think they will be backed up in the kitchens rider mine.

I’ren nodded and scratched that brown’s jaw affectionately. “You’re probably right Tal. Hey, have you seen Remi lately? She wasn’t on the bed this morning and I hope she isn’t out getting into trouble.”

The brown sighed and said, She is probably sleeping with Zenia knowing that little lizard. She is always with the people who visit.

I’ren nodded and said, “Yes that’s true. I had forgotten about that.”

Talavarianth crooned and looked up towards the door a few moments later and I’ren followed his gaze, finding his younger sister rubbing her eyes with one hand and stroking Remi with the other. “You look happy,” I’ren said as she sat down next to him and placed Remi on the ground next to her.

Zenia glared at him and said, “I would be happy if I had gotten some sleep. However, your lizard here is a very loud sleeper in case you haven’t noticed.”

I’ren shrugged and picked the copper-gold up and rubbing beneath her chin. “Actually, I’ve never noticed. I guess I just sleep through her warbles and such.”

His sister sighed and said, “I’m going to go down to the dining hall and get something to eat. I’ll be back later.”

I’ren grabbed her shirt sleeve as she got up and said, “I’ve ordered food up, and it should be up soon.”

Zenia walked to the door and then stopped, turning around. “Does the service shaft make a clicking noise? Because, if it does, the food is here.”

I’ren nodded and stood up, rubbing Talavarianth’s eyeridge again. “I’ll take you down to get something later ok?”

The hatchling crooned and rested his head on his front legs, falling asleep again.
