L'dos and Blue Tarith

Ramallo snorted and picked her head up, looking towards the Caer entrance. Lindos followed his mare’s gaze and smiled when he saw Catlina walking towards him.

She was a resident at the Caer currently and the two of them had become rather close during the time that Lindos had been there. She smiled and waved and picked up her pace when she saw that Lindos had seen her.

“How are you?” She asked as she sat down next to him in the grass.

He shrugged and said, “I’m alright I guess. I just got out of a lesson with the race instructor.”

Catlina patted Ramallo on the neck and asked, “How’d that go? Are you getting anywhere with Ramallo’s training at all?”

Lindos swatted a pesky fly away and said, “Well I’m not really sure yet. I mean, the trainer thinks she’s got potential but we haven’t really tested her yet.”

Catlina furrowed her brow and asked, “What do you mean you haven’t tested her yet?”

Lindos pulled on his black mare as she tried to move off towards some more appetizing grass and then said, “Well we’ve been getting her to stretch out when she runs and she can get out of the gate well enough. However, we haven’t tried running her the full distance as of yet so Erika doesn’t know if she has the stamina to run the full track.”

Catlina nodded in understanding and said, “Well I’m sure she’ll do fine eventually. I mean, you don’t have her scheduled to race for two years so you’ve got plenty of time to train her up before her first one.”

Lindos frowned and said, “Yes, that’s true but it will be harder once I bond because I’ll have to give my full attention to my new bondmate and in that time Ramallo will be just standing in the pasture eating grass all day and not doing any work.”

Catlina smiled and said, “I could lunge her for you while you’re busy with your bondmate, I don’t mind. Also, we could set her up as a broodmare until you have a little more time on your hands. You could get some extra money from selling her foals when they’re old enough.”

Lindos nodded and said, “Alright, that would be great but just make sure that she’s still being trained until the last minute ok?”

Catlina nodded and was about to say something when she pointed to something behind him and asked, “Who’s that?”

Lindos turned around to find a young boy running over to them, holding a thick stack of paper. When he reached them he smiled, trying to catch his breath.

“Can I help you?” Lindos asked as he took the stack of paper from the boy.

The boy nodded and said, “Well you can help the caerlady. The eggs are beginning to crack and I would suggest that you get down to the dunes if you wish to bond.”

Lindos handed the papers back to the boy quickly, gave Catlina a hug and then sprinted off towards the hatching dunes. There was no way he was going to be late for his bonding.
