L'dos and Blue Tarith

Jr. Fledgling

Tarith stretched his wings and said, “I’m glad we came down to the lake today L’dos. It’s a very nice day to lay by the shore.”

L’dos smiled and said, “to lay by the lake makes any day good Tarith.” He stretched out on the soft grass, looking up at the sky and the dragons that were practicing fleet formations.

Tarith warbled and followed his rider’s gaze. “When will we be able to fly in the fleets?”

The bluerider shifted his gaze back to his dragon and said, “Well you’ll be able to fly once you’re a senior fledgling. However, I will have to wait until you well learned in the art of flight before I am permitted to fly with you.”

Tarith snorted and said, “That’s silly. Why can’t you just fly with me once I learn how?”

“Because it’s not safe I suppose,” L’dos answered, not really knowing the answer himself. “I guess it’s because they don’t want me to ride you if you aren’t used to your wings yet.”

“Because it’s not safe I suppose,” L’dos answered, not really knowing the answer himself. “I guess it’s because they don’t want me to ride you if you aren’t used to your wings yet.”

“I wouldn’t let anything happen to you L’dos,” Tarith said as he rolled over onto his side.

L’dos smiled and sat up, rubbing his dragon’s eye ridge affectionately. “I know you wouldn’t Tarith, but accidents happen.”

They were both silent for a moment and then Tarith asked, “Will I be permitted to transfer without you or do I learn that when I am ready to have you on my back?”

L’dos laughed and asked, “A lot of questions today Tarith?” He patted his dragon’s neck and then said, “I’m not sure about that actually. It depends on whether your T-power is strong or weak. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see about that one.”

Tarith warbled and was about to say something else when he looked over towards the Caer, watching as a young man sprinted towards them. “Another duty for you L’dos,” his blue said.

L’dos stood up as the man reached him and waited for him to catch his breath. “What do you need?” He asked when the man looked like he was able to speak.

The man breathed in heavily once more and then said, “The Caerlady wants you to round up the standing bonders for the clutch that’s currently on the dunes. They’re about ready to hatch and the bonders are nowhere to be found!”

L’dos sighed and nodded. “Ok, I’ll get right to it.”

As the man walked away L’dos looked down at his dragon and said, “I have to go take care of this. Will you just meet me up at the caer later or are you going to stay down here?”

Tarith shook his head slightly and said, “I’ll head back up to the caer so that you don’t have to worry about where I am while you’re trying to find the bonders.”

L’dos nodded and scratched his dragon’s eye ridges. “Thanks,” he said as he ran off.
