L'dos and Blue Tarith
Sr. Fledgling
“May we lay here all day L’dos?” Tarith asked his rider as he shifted his weight.
L’dos shrugged and said, “Well I don’t think we can sit here /all/ day but I wouldn’t mind being here for most of the day.”
Tarith warbled and asked, “You don’t have anything to do today?”
L’dos yawned and said, “Well I have a training session later today, as do you, but that’s not until about seven.”
The blue crooned and asked, “Will you be spending the night with Clara again, or will you be home?”
L’dos smiled and asked, “How did you find out about her so quickly?”
Tarith shrugged and said, “When a dragon’s rider doesn’t come home for three nights in a row he begins to ask around.”
“And who did you ask?” L’dos asked with a smile.
“Clara’s dragon, Kyliunth,” Tarith replied.
L’dos sighed and said, “Ah, I should have known.” He was quiet for a moment and then he said, “No, I think I’ll be home tonight, for the most part anyway.”
Tarith yawned and said, “Alright, I was just wondering.”
“This doesn’t bother you does it?” L’dos asked as he looked at his dragon, who seemed to be growing out of his skin almost daily now.
Tarith shrugged and said, “Not really. If you are happy then I will go along with it.”
L’dos frowned and asked, “What aren’t you happy about?”
Tarith was silent for a moment but then he said, “I am unhappy about the fact that you will not be entering me in Kyliunth’s flight when she rises. To me, that would be the right thing to do, considering.”
L’dos nodded and said, “Yes I agree with you, I would enter you if that was what Clara wanted, and if you were a dragoner.”
Tarith snorted and said, “You know as well as I do that senior fledglings can enter mating flights, as long as their rider is ready.”
L’dos smiled and said, “I can see there’s no fooling you as of late.” He rubbed his chin in thought and said, “I’ll talk to Clara and see what she thinks.”
“Why would she not want me to enter her dragon’s flight, just out of curiosity?” Tarith asked as he stretched his ever-growing wings.
L’dos shrugged and said, “She doesn’t want a long-term relationship that she has to commit to I guess.”
“When her dragon rises she will be forced to accept a long-term relationship whether it if me that catches her dragon, or another male. I see no difference.” Tarith argued.
L’dos put his hands up in front of him, almost to ward off his dragon’s growing impatience, and said, “I said I would talk to her Tarith. I don’t know what she’ll say but I’ll talk to her tonight.”
Tarith sighed and said, “It just doesn’t seem right for you to be doing what you are, and leave me here with nothing.”
L’dos smiled and asked, “That’s what this is all about?” He brushed his hair out of his face and then continued, “You’re making a big deal because you’re jealous?”
Tarith rumbled and sat up. “I am /not/ only talking about this because I do not have a female,” Tarith said angrily as a small curl of smoke furled from his nostrils.
“Alright, alright,” L’dos said, trying to calm his dragon down before he let some flame slip from his mouth. “I’ll talk to Clara, like I already said I would, and no matter what she says I promise you can enter a flight the day you become a dragoner.”
Tarith sighed and said, “I suppose I can wait until then.”
L’dos smiled and said, “You only have two months to go until then anyway.”
“Two months will seem like a lifetime,” Tarith replied.
