S'rac and Bronze Tonaeth
:Sr. Fledgling:

“Get out of here Onyx,” S’rac said as he batted his cavern lizard away and rolled over in bed.

The black warbled and jumped over him, spun around and warbled in his face.

S’rac pushed him away and said, “Go away, I’m trying to sleep.”

He hissed in annoyance and then flew back over to Tonaeth’s quarters. Moments later Tonaeth’s voice echoed clearly through S’rac mind. It is time to get up S’rac, he said.

S’rac moaned and said, “It’s still so early, let me be.”

Tonaeth snorted and said, It is past two, you have been sleeping for quite some time now S’rac and it is now time to get up.

“Why?” S’rac asked as he pulled the covers up over his head and tried to block his dragon’s voice out.

The bronze sighed in annoyance and said, You must get up because I am hungry and I am not allowed to go down to the hunting grounds without you.

S’rac pushed the covers away and rubbed his eyes, saying “Fine I’m up. Just give me ten minutes to get ready.”

Five, Tonaeth said simply.

“Seven,” S’rac replied.

Fine, Tonaeth agreed.

Seven minutes later S’rac walked into his dragon’s quarters, running his hands through his damp hair. “Are you ready to go?” he asked as he picked Onyx up and rubbed the cavern lizard’s head.

I have been ready for over three hours, Tonaeth said as he stood up and walked over to the ledge.

S’rac rolled his eyes, set Onyx down again and then walked over to his dragon. He swung up onto the senior fledgling’s back and gripped onto one of the neck ridges in front of him.

Ready? Tonaeth asked.

S’rac nodded and had barely opened his mouth to reply when his dragon leapt from the ledge and spiraled down towards the feeding grounds.

When they had landed S’rac slid down from his dragon’s back and watched as Tonaeth took off again and headed for the herd of penned beasts.

Why am I not permitted to come down to the heeding grounds by myself S’rac? There is no one else here today so I see no problem with it, the bronze asked as he dove and snatched a large buck from the herd.

S’rac shrugged and said, “I don’t know really. I suppose that it’s because they don’t want a fight breaking out over food and then have no one there to break it up.”

Tonaeth dragged the buck into the air and carried it over to a feeding ledge, dropping it heavily and then setting down next to it and beginning to feed. Well that’s silly though, I should be able to come down here by myself if no one else is here, Tonaeth said as he looked up briefly from his meal.

“Shall I bring it up with the cavern lord?” S’rac asked with a smile.

Tonaeth shook his head mentally and said, No I don’t think so. I don’t mind I suppose. I like having you come down with me anyway, it gives me someone to talk to.

“Well I’m glad I’m good for something,” S’rac said with a laugh.

Tonaeth snorted and said, You are good for many things rider-mine. As he finished the herdbeast he pushed the carcass over the edge of the ledge and then took off again, diving after another. How do you feel about females S’rac? The bronze asked as he grabbed another beast which had been caught on the outskirts of the herd.

“Why do you ask?” S’rac asked, truly puzzled as to why his dragon would ask him about females.

Tonaeth shrugged as he carried the beast up to the feeding ledge and said, I’ve just never seen you with a female so I was just wondering.

S’rac smiled and said, “Perhaps I’ve just been too busy with you to flirt with the females?”

Tonaeth warbled in amusement and said, Remind me then to allow you some time to go off and do that.

S’rac smiled and said, “Alright I will then.”

Tonaeth laughed mentally and said, I would be happy to see you with a female by the end of this month

“You don’t say?” S’rac said in amusement. “Well perhaps I shall work on that then. I wouldn’t want you to become unhappy because of the lack of females in my life.”

Tonaeth snorted and said, You'll thank me for this you know.

S’rac rolled his eyes and said, “Yeah Ton, whatever.”
