"Tyrenn wake up!" A voice cries. Tyrenn rolls over in bed but then sits up as his sister's voice cries out again. He rubs his eyes and looks at her. "What?" He askes. His sister looks out the small bedroom window. Tyrenn follows her gaze but doesn't see anything worth looking at. "There, don't you see him?" Tyreen scans the area visible through the window. "No," he replies. His sister sighs and grabs his head, making it face the direction of the person. Tyrenn tries to get away but his sister holds him fast. "Whoa!" Tyrenn says when he sees the person. "Thats a dragonrider!" He cries out. His sister lets go of his head. "Exactly," she says plainly. Tyrenn jumps from his bed, grabs some clean clothes and runs to the bathroom to change. When he's finished he grabs an apple of the table and dashes out the door.

He runs to the runner paddock near the house and jumps the fence, running to the barn when his horse is. He runs to the tackroom and grabs his saddle and bridle from the hooks labeled Juie. He sets them down next to his stall and then grabs the halter off the door. He puts it over his shoulder as he works the latch on the door loose. "We've really gotta oil this," he says when he finially gets it open. He approaches his horse, puts the halter and leads out of the stall. He ties him on the crossties and gives him the apple. Juie munches happily. "I really should groom you but I just don't have the time right now," he says as he quickly brushes the dust and dirt off with his hands.

He diecides to groom Juie, his trainer had always said that it's better for the horse and then he tacks up quickly, yet making sure he's doing everything right. He tightens the cinch on the girth and Juie turns his and attempts to bite his owner. "Cut it out," Tyrenn says as he hits Juie on the nose. The horse turns his head and pouts while Tyrenn finishes with the saddle. He puts the bridle on next and then leads him outside next to the fence. Tyrenn scales it and then climbs into the saddle, shifting it into place once he's on. He adjusts the reins and then give his horse a light kick and they canter off towards the main square, where the dragonriders await.

Tyrenn pulls Juie up a few miles from the square to let him rest. Juie lets out a snort of thanks and then walks toward the grassy area in front of them. Tyrenn lets him and then dismounts, laying on the soft grass next to him horse and listening to the rhythmic munching. About five minutes later Juie nudges his rider, letting him know he's ready to go again. Tyrenn pats him on the head and then mounts again, turning to face the road to the town square and then giving him the signal to canter off again.

When they reach town Tyrenn walks Juie slowly to the center and lets him drink at the fountain while he looks for wandering dragonriders from his place in the saddle. He spots one and tries to pull Juie away from the fountain but he won't budge. Tyrenn digs his heals into his gray stallion but he ignores it, which is unusual. "I told mom we should have gelded you!" He cries out. Juie turns his head and snorts in Tyrenn's face, covering him in water. He wipes is face off with the back of his hand. "Yeah thanks," he says. He tried to turn Juie again and this time he does, walking slowly away from the cold water. Tyrenn searches the crowd again and when he spots another dragonrider he trots slowly up to him.

"Hey," the dragonrider says as Tyrenn halts Juie in front of him. The dragonrider looks him over, now covered in dust from the road and then smiles. "You really wanted to get out here didn't you?" He askes as he strokes Juie. Tyrenn nods. "I would really like to be a dragonrider sir." The dragonrider smiles again. "You can call me H'lin, I'm a brownrider at Dark Moon Weyr. Do you have a preference as to where you want to Impress?" Tyrenn shakes his head. "Alright, well I think that you're a good candidate and my dragon Ilmirth seems to think that you'll have a good chanceof Impressing while you're on the sands." Tyrenn smiles. "Will I be able to keep my stallion?" He askes. "Stallion?" H'lin askes as he looks over Juie again. "Sure the Weyr could always use another breeding stallion. However, I don't know how much time you'll have to spend with him once you Impress." Tyrenn nods again. "I don't care. As long as he's near me I'm fine," he says as he pats Juie's neck.

"Alright, I'll have one of the journeymen here ride him to Dark Moon Weyr. He should get there in about two days." Tyrenn nods again as he dismounts and hands the reins to a journeyman who was just called over. H'lin talks to him for a moment and then turns to Tyrenn. "Ok, lets go." Tyrenn gives Juie another pat and then follows H'lin to where his dragon is. He helps him to the saddle and then climbs up quickly. "Hold on tight," he says as he places his hand on his dragon's neck. The small brown takes off from the ground and circles higher and higher, leveling off and then flying slowly. H'lin looks back. We're not going to go between today. Dark Moon Weyr isn't that far off," he says loudly so Tyrenn can hear over the wind. Tyrenn nods and looks down. He can just make out a small gray runner before they enter a grove of trees and dissapear. Tyrenn relaxed, knowing that the two of them will be together soon.
