Maybe you can help. I have been searching for a song by Genesis entitled I've Got a Job to Do. It does not show up in any of their albums and the record store people do not have a clue but i hear the song on the radio. Can you help? Where is this song located. Thankyou

Hi! Seeing Genesis on "Behind The Music" last week made me want to go out there and hunt for the band on the internet. This is one great site! I love the layout, and you give fair time to each band member past and present. It's different without Phil, but I am sticking around, always interested to see in which direction this talented and exciting band goes in next ! I was priveleged to see Genesis in concert twice, and caught Peter during his "Us" tour. Genesis rocked live, still my favorite concerts by far followed very closely by seeing Peter... he's such an incredible artist, and he brought each song to life. Quite memorable! Very cool graphics and pictures.... my favorite is the morph of Peter's masks on the index page! :) I'll be back! Keep up the great work! Hello, in a recent interview Tony banks said that he and Mike were thinking about letting Genesis go. This is because they fell their last album was not very well recieved.

What are your thoughts on this??

I believe that the band is in a position now where they do not have to sell millions of records to realise that they are appreciated. They know that they have a large very hardcore fanbase that will buy anything they put out even if it was a collection of Barry Manilow covers!! Also, they can't really need to do that for financial gain any more either.....I mean they must be pretty well off.

Genesis....in this world of produced rubbish that is all over the radio you stand out alone as one of the only sources of music that satisfies those of us who want that bit more....please don't give up, not after this long.

To Genesis, I hope this reaches you…

I thank you for growing up with you. At 33, I look back, and still listen to every album you have made. Genesis has always been a large part in my enjoyment of everything musically creative. I can write many pages of how spectacular I think you are, so I will get to why I must contact you.

There are only two songs that will be remembered in history as perhapsthe best pieces of rock/pop recording ever done. Supper’s Ready and Stair Way to Heaven. These are not songs, they are a masterpiece of the best writers of the rock/pop industry spanning 20 years.

I beg of your band, because Genesis is the only one capable of another 20 minute medley of this caliber. One artistically brilliant song that punctuates the talents and creative skills of all of it’s members.

You have had great commercial success…. Now I ask you to do something to express the best that music has to offer even if the masses in this point in time do no appreciate it… A monstrosity of two drum sets, a sea of keyboards and an edge of guitar… A sequel to Supper’s Ready.

Just to let you know, Ray was OFFICIALLY named the new singer in June, 1997, not 1996.  Tony and Mike started writing again in 1996, and pretty much had the writing done, when Ray came into the band in 1997. (The "1996-" part is listed under the "Who Is Genesis")

Being an indulgance fan at one time brings to mind the day my brother saw Genesis for a pack of cigarettes and I think it was fifty cents. Of course that was way back in the seventies. He saw them at the Buffalo State College here in Buffalo. in which I reside. Brings alot of very good memories between my brother and I. Because of the Band we became a couple of real close friends. Thus a eventful journey into the future of rock-n-roll music. To bring this message to the point, I found your site short, interesting and a pleasant time for memories.

to read the lyrics as sometimes you miss bits when he is singing. i am
definitely a g fan as is my boyfriend. I was wondering if you knew a site

song..lol..this one is "Ripples". Its a shame i live in a quiet corner of
western australia, i would love to see genesis live, i have been a fan for a

oky, call me strange,but I still love all and everything from Genesis.
you know from 1967 to now.......peter, phil, ray , mike, tony, steve( yah him
2), ant, chris, john s. and john m. ....and the CAS stuff is total kick-a$$
cool , as usual for Genesis,.....but I miss Phil being in
there.......personally I think while he was married to the "psyco-hose-beast
from-the-depths-of-hell" , otherwise known as Jill, that it brought him down
and made him believe that the change had to begin by leaving Genesis and
leaving her....but personally I think it was just needed by leaving
her,,..and he did and is better off , but why oh why , (aside from evolving
as an artist) did he have to leave Genesis?? I mean , mike , tony and him are
like the best of buddies... I get it as a musician myself,...but then again,
I dont. i mean Im still baffled that he left Genesis........but I caught the
hints on "we cant dance" and seeing him on tour......but i thought it was
just coz he had to ditch "the queen of mad cow disease" or something like
that!!!!! anyways, theres my thoughts for the day.. if anyone cares to add
their two or three cents..hey, go 4 it!!!!!

First, this is a great site! I don't know if you're a pro or what, but it's
better than 90% of the stuff I see on the web. Back to business...
1 - I have a loooong-standing bet with my brother about this: on the song
"Squonk" from Trick of the Tail, did Peter G sing the words "You better
watch out, you better watch out" after Phil sang the line "I'll trick him,
then I'll kick him into my sack"? I know Peter left right after the Lamb
tour, but if you listen hard, there is a distinct change in vocal tone on
this one line in the song, and it was an amicable parting...
2 - Do you know of any videos (not photos, but actual videotape) of the Lamb
tour? There's a Genesis retrospective video w/interviews of the 5 key guys
(it was released just after Invisible Touch), and a short video of Peter
singing "In the cage" was included. I doubt they'd take 5 seconds of footage
without shooting the whole darn concert. Actually, I'm 99.9% sure you have
this video yourself, I just want to know how I can get it. I'm in New York
City in the USA. Help, and thanks!!!!

Great site, especially the lyrics page.  More than any other tunes though, do you have the complete lyrics to the fourth side of Three Sides Live (American version)??  ESPECIALLY "Me and Virgil" ???  I would really appreciate the lyrics to that particular song.  I have been able to figure out most of it except for a few verses and it has been driving me crazy.
