Some notes on the DVD “The Secret”
A DVD presenting an explanation of “The Law of Attraction”
At first look, I found the movie a bit like an oversized infomercial albeit very well produced infomercial but an infomercial nonetheless.
This “movie” was very well produced, it had a bit of a Da Vinci Code feel to it (at least in the background). “Movie” is in quotes because, even though there was not a specific product “for sale” I think that due to it’s relatively short message being repeated several times with different speakers it seemed more like an infomercial.
I took some notes on who was presenting the information in the DVD and wanted to see what these people did. What I found is that most of them have written books in areas relating to the subject matter in the DVD, and several of them are available to speak a your company. (at least one for $25,000 per hour plus first class travel)
This is all great, if I could garner those numbers I certainly would.
The law of attraction takes a lot of faith to really buy into. Faith, as we know is believing without logical proof. Blind faith is believing without proof and forgetting to remain aware of surroundings and sometimes common sense.
As with any motivational type seminar that I have been exposed to, the speaker is presenting a host of information that is already possessed by nearly every person in the audience. The talent of the speaker is that they present the information to the audience in a way that the audience sees it as new information. There are people that actually need this type of presentation to unlock the information that they don’t always realize they already have.
….and that’s what I saw.
