Synopsis:
Though it is not as great as I expected, this is still one of the best soundtracks. It really fits Tim Burton's tounge-in-cheek movie. The main theme makes you want to get up and hail the martian conquerers, and the "Martian Lounge" song is complete with machine clanks, thermins, and elevator music. Overall, mostly a good CD. Oh yeah, for you Tom Jones fans out there (all 5 of you), his song "It's not Unusual" is the final track.

Synopsis:
This is one of my favorite CDs. If you have never seen the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas then you're missing out. It's a wonderful movie from Tim Burton, and the music definately does it justice. I often find myself singing along to it's variety of songs, such as Oogie Boogie's blues and the 3 trickters' song, "Kidnap the Sandy Claws". This is definately a great addition to any CD library, especially if you live in a house with the young or the young at heart.

Synopsis:
Composed by the same genius who did Titanic, this score is for those people out there who love jungle type music. It goes from the heartwarming to the terrifying in seconds. This CD has some great tracks that would be perfect for a dark Halloween night. Overall, it may not be some people's cup of tea. If you need more help deciding, E-mail me and I'll send you some samples.

Synopsis:
This is the ultimate CD for anyone who has a CD player. Marc Shaiman is a master, and this is one of his best works. Go see the movie. Right now. Then go find the soundtrack. It's the best part of the movie. Unfortunately, this CD is out of print. I found my copy through much scowering accross the internet. Don't worry, it's worth it.

Beetlejuice-

Rating: (5 out of 5)

Synopsis:
This CD will make you a Danny Elfman fan since the first track. It's haunting score is complete with pizzicato violins and a hauntingly jazzy piano. My only complaint about this CD is that it runs a bit soft on the volume. A lot of you will like that feature, but I prefer the main theme when it blows my eardrums out, and it is extremely hard to get it to that volume without picking up excess static. Great for traveling, when you can't bring the video with you. But, if you REALLY love this music, buy the Beetlejuice DVD. The volume is much better, the sound is richer, and there is an optional audio track to hear just the music.

Synopsis:
I got this CD (well, I bought the tape, but they're the same) about 5 years ago, and I've loved it ever since. It includes such greats as the Monster Mash and the Twilight Zone, as well as some lesser-knowns, like the Martian Hop and the Blob. Overall, a great CD for any Halloween fanatic.

Synopsis:
A great, creepy soundtrack. The maintitles are excesivily creepy, as is the rest of this album. But the best part is that the world's creepiest piano cues are on this cd. Buy it, and listen for them at the end of the last track. I should probably note that the one thing this CD lacks is a stream of consciousness. It bounces from one orchestra screech to another. It's perfect for a dark atmosphere, but it does get tedious on the ears. Fun, but probably not for most of you.

(Batman)

Rating: (5 out of 5)

Synopsis:
What can I say. WOW. This CD is amazing. I simply can't get enough. I can't get the majestic Batman theme out of my head. I hum it EVERYWHERE. No self respecting Music lover's collection is complete without this cd. It's not Halloweeny per se, but it's by Danny Elfman, so it's good anyhow. I think that this is my favorite CD to date. Oustanding. Terrific! Better than BEETLEJUICE!

Synopsis:
This is a hard CD to review. It is excelent, there's no doubt about that. But it's definately not as good as the original Batman soundtrack. Parts of it lack, but then again parts are amazing! The Penguin themes is one of my all time favorites, and believe me this CD is worth the price just for such tracks as "The Cemetary" and "The Finale (2)". Also, it's much darker and creepier than the original, so it's much more suited for Halloween listning. If you didn't like the first Batman soundtrack, don't buy this one. Otherwise, buy this CD NOW!
