Our 1995 Goldwing SE 1500

After riding our 1200 for some 12,500 miles, my wife and I discussed the possibility of acquiring a purple Goldwing. The reason for the color purple is that it is one of our school colors (University of Washington Huskies). I knew that Magenta was only available in 1995 and we expected to have to wait until 2005 when the 1800 might come out in a Magenta color.

Well, earlier this month (November, 2002), I was visiting my local motorcycle dealer. When I walked in the store, I spotted the 1995 Magenta across the showroom floor, and pretty much realized that this was the Magenta model for us. It's an SE model (top of the line) that only has 20,000 miles on it. It's essentially stock with road footpegs.

So I called my wife up to come down and sit on the new Wing. She pronounced her blessing and we bought it. I rode the 1200 home and she drove me back to the dealer. Upon completion of the paperwork, I rode our "new" 1500 on home. My first several hundred miles of riding has led me to appreciate the qualities of both the 1200 and 1500. We have a Russell day long seat on the 1200 and the 1500 seat isn't quite as nice. The 1500 has much power and is very smooth!! And of course, Magenta is the passionate color! And now as of 2/17/03, we've logged some 2,800 miles over the winter.

As of 10/15/03, we've logged 15,000 miles since our purchase date.

I've installed our GPS on it and a VENCO voltmeter. We have now installed Progressive Springs on the Front and Rear along with a Tulsa vented Windshield. The ring of fire is also installed around the front calipers. We'll be adding additional turn indicator lights on the mirrors and a Kennedy Cellset and have an iPod for listening to music.

It also came with a small trailer which has now been repainted to a less clashing color. We're looking forward to many more miles of cruising.

We've also acquired a 1992 KWIK KAMP camping trailer that was unused. We camped throughout the summer in it and enjoyed it immensely.

We also have a Chi/Pug mix (MATT) that travels on some trips with us in his own Pet Taxi on the cargo box.
