David Kates
David became involved in fitness after 20 years of sitting in a chair developing software for small companies and large corporations and after managing to gain 60 pounds during that time. In 2000 he made the decision to get out of that chair and get back on his feet and joined the Centennial Fitness Centre where he met a dedicated and involved staff who helped him not only shed that 60 pounds in a year but helped him develop a passion for fitness. In 2003 he ran his first 10k in more that 20 years (with Ralph Mione’s voice running in his head… “you can do it”) and since has run many more 10k races, 3 half-marathons and 3 full marathons. Going back to school to gain a Fitness Leadership Certificate was an easy decision and in May 2005 he was honoured to join the staff at the Markham Fitness Centres as a Fitness Counsellor where he hopes to impart some of the passion he’s gained over the years.
David's
Motto: “Put
your heart into your efforts… your body and mind will follow.”

fortunate to have had the opportunity to work for many years with one
of Canada’s foremost running coaches. Over the years her interests
expanded, including coaching competitive gymnastics, land training
competitive swimmers, providing Pilates/Yoga core training programs
for competitive figure skaters, as well as providing cohesive cross
training programs for runners and triathletes. Her interests continued to broaden and she has taken a keen interest in specialized training for older adults as well as the integration of Mind/Body aspects of fitness.
Christine holds a Bachelors Degree (Hon) from the University of Toronto
and several NCCP and CanFitPro certifications, as well as training in
Pilates and Yoga. Over the years her concentration has become centered
in four specific areas, which are included in all training programs she
provides: Strength, Core, Alignment, Flexibility (SCAF).
Exercise is an integral
part of Christine’s life. She enjoys an
overall sense of well being and being well balanced. After over 30 years
of running she has ventured into the exciting world of triathlons and
thoroughly enjoys it. 2007 has been a highlight year and afforded the

personal cross training program, as are strength training and stretching
(a daily endeavour).
Christine's
Motto: "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of

What a Ride!"

Chris Green
After spending nearly a decade working within the fitness industry, Chris finally decided that his job was not very good for his health. Working with travel agents from across Southern Ontario he was often spending up to 4 hours a day in the car. The entire time driving was spent day dreaming of being out on his mountain bike, or hiking the local trails. So finally he decided to go back to school and earn a diploma in the fitness industry where he could pursue his passion full time.
Graduating from the Seneca College fitness leadership program, he quickly got Personal Training certified and started working one on one with clients helping to transfer his skills and passion for fitness to help them achieve all of their goals.
When not out hiking or biking, Chris can be found out on the golf course desperately trying to improve his game or enjoying one of the many books on his must read list.
Chris’ motto: “Nothing matters like our health”. When we accomplish our health and fitness goals we know that we can accomplish anything. This is where true fulfillment lies.
