January 1, 2005 Peyton's First Birthday! |
The Presentation of the Cake Grandma Diana made a yummy lemon cake with cream cheese frosting for Peyton's first birthday cake. Mommy decorated the cake to say "Happy Birthday Peyton". |
Blowing Out the Candle Peyton LOVES to blow out candles, but became a bit shy when presented with the candle on his birthday cake. With a little encouragement from Grandma and Grandpa, and a little help from Daddy, Peyton finally blew it out. |
Peyton's First Piece of Cake Although we let him have small bites of sweet stuff at home, Peyton had never had his own full piece of cake before. He didn't hesitate too long before digging in. |
Peyton's First Bite of Cake Once he got a taste of the yummy cake and frosting, he didn't need much encouragement to keep eating it! |
The Sippy-Cup of Milk Since we all like a nice glass of cold milk to go with most sweets, we figured Peyton would like one too. Forget that! Once the cake eating got started, the glass of milk got pushed to the side. |
The Last of the Cake Even after the plate had been taken away, Peyton saw to it to eat every little crumb and drop of frosting on the high chair tray. The best way to get all of the crumbs down is (apparently) to shove them halfway down your throat! |
All Gone The few smudges of frosting on Peyton's face were the only evidence of the whole cake eating experience. Mmmmmm. |
The Loot After eating cake, Peyton (OK - Mommy and Daddy) tore into his presents.
