February 2004
Week 5 - Yahoo!  Peyton is smiling this week!  We can get big, light-up-the-face smiles now!  It is so fun to see him becoming an interactive little person.  The latest development is that on Saturday Peyton drank out of his first bottle.  He took it without any problems, finishing 4 ounces in about 30 seconds flat!  Daddy gave him the bottle & it allowed them some nice bonding time.  On Sunday we watched Peyton's first Super Bowl.  I'm not sure he even knew what was going on!  Both Mommy & Peyton have caught Daddy's cold.  Boo.  Sunday night is rough & we decide to take him to the doctor on Monday.  Luckily his cold doesn't turn into RSV.  Salt Lake has been hit hard with the virus & there are lots of sick babies in the hospital.  I feel very lucky that we're not among them.
Week 6 - Not much happened this week.  We are just content to be a happy little family at home.  Peyton & I met Daddy for lunch on Thursday.  We had yummy Chinese food at a restaurant near campus.  We're all looking forward to & getting ready for our trip to Montana next week to visit with both families.
Week 7 - We had a fun time on our first vacation with Peyton.  It was his first big road trip!  He did very well on the way to MT.  We made good time & arrived in Missoula in time for dinner on Friday night.  Auntie Heidi & Uncle Caleb came over to meet Peyton for the first time, as did his great-grandma Connie from Coeur D'Alene.  On Saturday, Peyton had pictures taken with his only great-great-grandma.  It will be special for us to have the pictures of the 5 generations in our family.  Not many kids have that these days.  On Saturday night we all had dinner at the Cox house.  We then traveled north to Polson & spent the rest of the weekend with the Brown grandparents.  We drove home (in a howling blizzard!) on Monday.
Week 8 - Another quiet week.  Daddy celebrated his 27th birthday on Friday.  Peyton went over and played with our neighbors Bart, Tina, Granger, and Carter while Mommy & Daddy had a nice quiet dinner at home.  Mommy cooked a yummy pheasant pasta dish & made lemon bars (Daddy's favorite!) for dessert.  After dinner we all watched a movie.  On Saturday, Leif & Peyton had a "boys day out."  They took a drive out to the Stansbury Mountains west of town and went for a little hike.  Mommy stayed home and had some much needed "alone time"!!!  Everyone had a great day!
