April 2004
Week 14 - The highlight of this week is the many visitors we had!  Grandma Carla came on Wednesday afternoon and spent 2 days with us.  We had a nice dinner with her, and she and Peyton got to go for a nice long hike on the trails behind our house.  On Thursday she left with Leif to climb King's Peak in the Uinta Mountains.  But Peyton & Mommy weren't alone for long...Grandma Diana & Grandpa Mike arrived at our house a few hours later to play with us for the weekend.  We had a fun time with them.  We went out to dinner, did LOTS of chores around the house, and went shopping for new Easter outfits.  Everyone left on Sunday afternoon, and Daddy was very happy to see his baby again.  They missed each other!  Peyton showed Daddy his new trick - he loves to jump...both in our arms & in the new Johnny Jump-Up that he got.
Week 15 - A happy week.  Saturday was a fun day.  We went to REI and bought Peyton his first bike helmet.  It's VERY tiny and is yellow with little bumblebees on it.  It's still a bit big for him, but since we have the bike seat now, it's mandatory.  We went for our first bike ride on the tandem with Peyton, and he seemed to enjoy it.  Or at least enjoyed it enough to sleep the whole time!  After our fun day out and about, we dyed Easter eggs on Saturday night.  Peyton wasn't really into it, but I bet he'll be dyed from head to toe next year!  Our friends Justin and Andrea had Easter dinner with us on Sunday.  We had delicious turkey and all the trimmings, with pecan pie for dessert.  Yum!  Monday was a great day.  Leif elicited Peyton's first giggle!  They're still a little forced, but the sound great!  We do everything but stand our heads to get him to laugh more.
Week 16 - Another great week.  The big highlight this week was Peyton's first visit from "Auntie" Jocelyn.  She traveled all the way from Salem, Oregon to spend a few days with us and play with her new nephew.  We had a fun time with her.  We went shopping, out to eat, watched movies, and spent a day in Park City.  We stayed up late and got up early so that we could make the most of our time together.  Peyton even laughed for Joss on her last night here, which made her trip even more enjoyable.  We can't wait to see her again.
Week 17 - The big highlight of this week is that Peyton rolled over all by himself!  He surprised us and went from his back to his front...the direction that we thought would be harder to do.  It took him almost a week to perfect the move, but now that he can do it, he does it all the time and with great ease.  The funny thing about him rolling over is that he hates to be on his tummy.  So he'll roll over and then scream and squeal until we flip him back onto his back.  We can't wait until he learns to roll the other way too!
