June 2004
Week 22 - The big highlight of this week was Peyton's first canoe trip at Flaming Gorge Reservoir in nothern Utah.  We went up there Friday night and met Grandpa and Grandma Cox (and their puppy Jib!) and canoed on Saturday and Sunday.  We had fun camping, and mommy and grandma caught fish to have for dinner on Saturday night.  It was very windy the whole weekend, but we managed to get in a lot of canoeing and hiking.  We drove home on Monday afternoon, after having a yummy lunch at Pizza Hut before we said good-bye to the grandparents.  Mommy made a pumpkin spice cake on Tuesday in honor of Peyton's 5 month birthday.
Week 23 - A hot hot hot week!  Our temps have been up into the 90's most every day.  We try to keep cool by going up into the Wasatch canyons and recreating.  On Sunday we went for a nice long bike ride up Mill Creek Canyon.  Peyton doesn't enjoy the bike seat much yet, so we splurged and bought a bike trailer for him to ride in.  He's much more comfortable in that, which means we can actually get out and do some longer rides with him.  All the fresh air must agree with Peyton because the highlight of this week is that he slept through the night every night!  Hooray!  We're all rested!
Week 24 - Not a whole lot going on this week.  Daddy isn't feeling well, so we have a lazy weekend at home.  We've discovered we can check out fun old movies at the library for free, so we get a bunch of them and spend the weekend watching John Wayne and Alfred Hitchcock movies!  The big highlight on Tuesday night is that Peyton rolled from his tummy to his back.  Again, it takes him a while to get the hang of it, but now that he's got it, he's ALL over the place.  The fun game now is to see how far he can go just by rolling!
Week 25 - Another nice and lazy week.  After tons of visitors in the previous months, we're enjoying a quiet month at home, just the five of us (Baxter & McKenzie included!).  Peyton and daddy celebrated their first Father's Day together on Sunday.  We slept in and then made daddy a yummy breakfast of crepes with fresh fruit.  We then took a nice long scenic drive out in eastern Utah, scouting hunting spots for later this fall.  We had a fun picnic lunch at a mountain lake, and then threw sticks in the water for Baxter to fetch.
