July 2004
Week 26 - A BIG week for Peyton!  While camping in the Wind River Range in Wyoming with Grandpa Roger and Grandma Carla, we had TWO big happenings.  First, Peyton crawled for the first time in our tent to Grandpa.  We knew that he was getting close to this momentous occasion, but it still caught us by surprise.  Second, while letting Peyton chew on his finger, Daddy felt Peyton's first tooth!  A happy 4th of July weekend!
Week 27 - You would think that after the big week before, we would have a quiet week that followed.  Not so.  We went camping again this weekend, this time in the Uinta Mountains of Utah.  We had a fun time, and got home on Sunday just in time for Grandpa Mike, Grandma Diana, Great-grandparents Brown, and Cousin Stephanie to arrive for a visit.  We had a fun time playing with them in Salt Lake.  We took them to all of the local sights, and had some fun picnics in our backyard.
Week 28 - July is a busy month!  This week, Mommy, Peyton, and Grandma Carla traveled to British Columbia, Canada for a conference for Mommy's work.  Peyton had his first airplane and ferry rides, and did extremely well on both!  While Mommy was at her conference, Grandma and Peyton played around Vancouver Island where we were staying.  They saw the sights of Sidney, Victoria, and all of the beaches inbetween!  When Mommy wasn't working we all took trips around the island.  The highlight of the trip was a beautiful tour of Butschart Gardens, and afternoon tea there.
Week 29 - Finally some quiet time at home!  Peyton and Mommy arrived home on Saturday to an empty house.  Daddy was in Montana doing fieldwork, so the two had a quiet weekend alone.  Daddy had a happy homecoming on Monday morning...Peyton learned to say the word "dada" while we were in Canada.  Although he doesn't quiet yet associate that word with anyone, it still pleases Leif to hear that sweet word out of his son's mouth!
