Adopt a Pet, Save a Life!!!!
Stop pet overpopulation!!

SPAY & NEUTER YOUR PETS!!!
Adopting a family pet is a big decision and a huge responsibility. Adopting a pet from the TLC Animal Shelter is a commitment to that animal to care for and provide for it as you would a child, for the rest of it's natural life. We take every precaution to ensure that the animals we have rescued go to loving, caring homes.

Your level of commitment can be shown by visiting the animal often to spend time together. This can decrease the stress of the transition for the animal. If you choose an animal that is very nervous or not trusting this may be asked of you.

You will be required to meet the animals in order to best pick the one most suited to your home and lifestyle.

Once you have decided on an animal you would like to adopt, there is a two page application form that must be completed in full. References are required and will be checked!

Next there is a waiting period of approximately 3 to 5 days. This ensures ample time to check references and make sure the animal is ready to move to it's new home. We like out animals to be clean and healthy before leaving the shelter. This also provides time for any preparations needed in your home.

If we receive more than one application for a specific animal the family we feel best suited to the animal will be the first contacted.
The animals welfare always comes first.
You will be contacted as soon as your application is approved and arrangements will be made for you to pick up your new family member.

You will be responsible for providing a collar and leash and possibly a travel cage to get your pet home safely.

The adoption fee will be collected at the time the animal changes hands. An adoption certificate will be completed including all information regarding the animal and requiring a signature from both parties.

Adoption fees are necessary in order to recover some of our costs for providing for the animal while in our care. All aoption fees include the spay or neuter of the animal, deworming and initial vaccinations (except rabies). Cats have also been feline leukemia tested.

It is not the shelter's policy to refund adoption fees under any circumstances!
