  • 5/6 Well, I just wrote the quick update of the last 5 months... there are two weeks of school left... And as of yesterday, I'm done with the last bit of concert-type stress for this school year. Tuesday, the 3rd, I had my largest (physically) concert of the year... a big show featuring ALL of the choirs, in the gym, singing and dancing. The theme this year was "Love is in the Air" so all the songs had "Love" in there somewhere... 11 songs: Put a Little Love in Your Heart, Do You Love Me?, Seasons of Love, etc. The show was amazing! I was so proud of the kids, they did a great job. We filled up the bleachers and they even had to bring in chairs! There were probably over 300 people there! Then, yesterday, my sixth graders sang at the Plano Spring Festival. Last year, at this same festival, my sixth grade choir got 2, 2, 1. This year I took two choirs, the full 74-member group, and the honor choir. Both groups got straight ones! That's my first ever straight ones! And twice in one day! I was so excited! I love my sixth graders! And here's the other great news... all week I've been getting e-mails and phone calls from all kinds of parents about joinging choir for next year... kids that for some reason decided not to stay in choir when the schedule cards were first signed in February are dropping their other classes left and right and joining choir! So, let's make a quick comparison. This year, in all of seventh and eighth grade, male and female, I have exactly 40 kids. So far for next year I have 63 seventh and eighth graders! Could I BE more excited? No. No I could not. I'm pumped! Anyway... that's pretty much it for now... I'll try to update soon!
