Beyond 1 proposal that I might actually have said yes to had I realized at the time that he was proposing (ask me about it), I am currently footloose and fancy-free (whatever that means). I am also the doting aunt of my 10-year-old nephew and have thus far resisted the urge to run screaming from the room when relatives ask when I'm going to give my parents a grandbaby. Now if only I had the will power to resist slapping certain relatives for asking that very same question...

In light of 9/11 and other recent, personal events, some very dear friends have left the New York area. Being a born and bred New Yorker, I can't imagine leaving. However, walking Ground Zero made me nostalgic enough to part with the cash for a gold membership at
Classmates.com in an effort to get in touch with some long-lost Stuyvesant High School alums. I'm looking to reconnect with former friends and acquaintances and thought this a good place to start. Feel free to contact. But be warned: if you sign the guess book I may try to track you down!
After toiling for years in CUNY's revered flagship CCNY (insert laughter here), I now have a fairly lucrative position in a field that has absolutely nothing to do with my chosen field of study. When not working (or sleeping), I read obsessively and write short fiction. Alas I have not yet been discovered as the literary genius that I am but then that might require actually letting other people read my work.

Traveling is a recently discovered love. One of my most recent trips was my first overseas trip, to Egypt. My father and I went, staying a week (me) and a month (him - retirement is a beautiful thing!), and I got to meet some relatives I'd heard of but had never before seen. Including my Amety (aunt) Samirah. To view pix of my trip, including a postcard-quality one of the pyramids, check out the Diaries (link to the right).
