Beverly Beach
State Park as seen from the Campground

Brisk walk
on a warm September day

About 150
years ago, this area was logged of its old growth timber. In time
birds dropped spruce seeds on the rotting stumps. These seeds sprouted
and sent roots down through the rotting stump to the earth below.
As the stump continued to rot away the roots became exposed and in
some cases there is very little left of the rotted stump. This phenomena
is unique to this area.
Of course
Kids love to climb the roots to the base of the tree.

If there has
been a more perfect sunset, I haven't seen it!

October Sunset

If You get
bored one could walk or ride your bike down the beach to Devil's Punchbowl,
climb 97 steps, rent a surf board or gorge on a double decker Ice Cream
cone.
