DISCRIMINATION

Recently, I have published an aritcle entitled 'Peace'. It talks about the impotance of peace. Discrimination is another thing which can cause lots of turmoils if you do practise it. You won't be able to enjoy peace if you practise with discrimination around you.

With lots of diversity in human beings, there are lots of discrimination which exist in this world now. For example, discrimination among different races, different genders, different religions, the rich and the poor, and different reputations. Those are the few which I can see with my own eyes happening under the sun. Those do happen daily and they can get very serious if they are not taken care of.

I usually scratch my head and ask why people practise discrimination. Discrimination can cause lots of trouble, riots and turmoils in the country but still, some people insist to continue to discriminate other people who do not have the same ability than them. Don't we all love peace? Don't we all long for peace? Don't we all want the prevalence of peace in our own beloved country? So why practise discrimination when it cause lots and lots of unrest?

The reason why we must not discriminate other people is because we are all humans. Different races should not be a reason to practise discrimination. Negros are humans right? Indians are human right? Caucasians are human right? So we are humans too, so why must we discriminate them even their skin colour are different or their abilities are totally different than ours? There are no rules and regulations in any country which say that we must discriminate people from other races, religions or reputations. I am quite sure about that.

Look at some countries which practise discrimination. There is lots of unrest. There are even some countries which end up into a civil war. Consequently, people suffer. People die People being tortured. So what is the benefit do we get from discriminating people?

So how can we prevent this from happening? Perhaps the government can launch some campaigns or some games and competition during festive seasons to cultivate harmony between different races. From time to time, there should be some advertisements in televisions and radios to remind people about the importance of not discriminating anyone in the entire human race. Other than that, we can learn from history. This is quite useful because it can recall us to what has happened in the past and consequently, teaches us not to repeat the same old mistakes which the people committed during the past. Parents should also teach their children not to discriminate other people.

So, if there is no discrimination, unity comes in and peace pervades the world. Wars will also soon be extinct and everyone will live in perfect harmony. Maybe not really perfect but at least peace can be enjoyed. Don't you await for that time to come? So lets ALL of us come and try our best to stop discrimination. United we stand, divided we fall.
