According to the notes of Harriett Myrtle Reynolds-Douglas- John W. Reynolds came from Virginia (or Georgia). Got involved in the escape underground for slaves and ended up living in Iowa. Married Florence Wingate and had three sons- Loren, Rex, and Strother. John had respiratory problems- Dr. told him to move out west- so they moved to Othello, Washington. There John bought a house & livery stable in this railroad town.
