Stretch Out Our Arms FartherOn the last page it makes note that we spend our lives, running stretching out our arms farther trying to grasp something we will never get, hard as we try, we will never achieve our goals. Gatsby spent the last five years of his life trying to continue a loving relationship with a married woman. Many of those years were spent with him hoping that some day she would stumble into one of his parties and remember how much she had loved him, but this never happened. Fortunately his neighbor was a second cousin (once removed) to Daisy. This was the perfect opportunity for Gatsby to meet Daisy again. Although they were in love again, Daisy was still married, and Gatsby was trying to win an impossible battle. He spent the rest of his life stretching his arms out, and not getting anywhere.By: Saoirse |
