"Ashheaps"

After the accident, Daisy sped back to the Eggs, weaving in and out of the grey dusty ashheaps. Gatsby sat quietly, rather stunned at what had just happened.

Suddenly he asked, “What has come over you?”

Daisy sat quietly for a moment then she responded, “I hated him,- but now I hate you for trying to change things.”

The rest of the ride was quiet. Just as Daisy pulled put to her house Gatsby asked. “Why did you hit that woman?” Daisy got out and walked to her front door.

Gatsby called after her, “Do you want me to stay?”

The door slams.

Gatsby, still sitting in the car, says softly, “Good bye Daisy”
