| As the narrator for most of the story Nick not only serves the important role of telling us the story of what happened, but he also seems to be a mediator for the rest of the group. Until now though I never noticed that Nick’s last name seems to really convey something. The name, Carraway, has essentially two syllables, “care” and “ away”. I find these words are very fitting for the character, because he seems to throw all the cares that he had for the west away in order to belong in the East. |
